Have you ever heard of Messaria?

Visiting the Cyclades complex of islands, in the heart of the Aegean Sea is the dream of millions of people every summer. But you have probably only heard about Santorini and Myconos or in the best case scenario, about Paros and Naxos too.

So today I want to invite you for a walk at the narrow streets of Messaria, a place that you probably have never heard of. It is the capital of Kythnos, one of the least "famous" Greek islands and in my humble opinion an absolutely beautiful one!

When I say "capital" don't think of a big (or even a small) city. It is just a village with less than 1.000 inhabitants but still it is the biggest settlement on the island and undoubtedly the most scenic one!

The main colors that a visitor sees are the white of the houses and the blue of the sky decorated by an abundance of flowers in any kind of pots along the streets. The charming outcome is completed with colorful laundry lines at any available spot and uncountable churches.

If you are a sucker for big nightclubs and 5 star hotels you should probably go to the islands I mentioned before but if you want tranquil, relaxed vacation then this is the place for you :)

Enjoy!
