May is known as the month of the flowers and I couldn't have started it any differently! I may be away from my village and our farm but I am not away from nature! The town we are spending our vacation is very small, so within a few minutes you can be in the fields. But even at the house's gardens, the unbuilt plots or the edges of the roads, nature is shouting:
The big "diva" of the gardens is by far the blooming lilac. It's latin name is Syringa vulgaris but in Greece we call it by a name that can be roughly translated as the Easter plant, since it always bloom around Easter! But no matter how we call it, the scent of those flowers is divine and it is easy to understand why so many people plant one of those, close to their house.
Either in purple or in white it is a pleasure of the senses to be around such beauty and although I was taking pictures, I often closed my eyes and enjoyed the aroma and the light breeze!
The other wonderful smell of the days comes from the citrus trees. The area we are right now is famous for its production of oranges and spring is the time that the trees are blooming and a delicate scent is all around the town!
Of course there are many more flowers to see. From the humble chamomile which is like a fragrant carpet on the fields, to all kinds of weeds and wild or cultivated plants that are celebrating the coming of Spring!
And my camera is celebrating with them too :)
This is my contribution to the #SublimeSunday, instigated by @c0ff33a , as well as the #beautifulsunday, hosted by @ace108!
