Happy Hamsters in the wild (+ Video)

Yesterday I had a nice weekend in Vienna together with Stefan and Tanja. Since we didn't visit Vienna for a longer time we decided to use this beautiful weekend for a short trip to Vienna and enjoy the nature and the food there. I was able to take several pictures of hamsters, ground squirrels, a little bittern and falcons. I will show you some of these in a future post here on hive. Now the hamsters are on stage :-)

I really like these hamsters in Vienna because they are not very shy and so it is possible to take some closeup pictures of them. They are used to humans so much that they lost their fear and if you show them that you are not doing them any harm they get very close to you.

I find it very sad that I cannot find them in Linz and I have to drive so far to get some shot of them. Linz seems to be good only for some waterbirds and some other birds, but other animals like deer or hamsters or ground squirrels or even butterflies are not so easy to be found here. I have to do some research of other interesting animals I can find here. One of them is probably a beaver or a fox. But since these are pretty shy and can mostly only be found in the night or the twilight, it is difficult to take pictures of them.
