Samurais still exist in Japan it seems, well at least on the weekend in a town called Ashikaga in Tochigi prefecture. Ashikaga is home to the first school in Japan and has a long history.

While roaming the streets of this historic town we saw a man dressed in a costume depicting one of the most ancient and symbolic warriors of all time. Of course I had to get a shot of this. It was a bit difficult as the street was open to cars and we had to wait a bit. Luckily, this Samurai was patient and had no enemies to slay that day.

The kids in our group were overjoyed to see this warrior walking along the streets and they didn’t hesitate to get beside him and pose for the camera 📷.
