Happy New Year!
For some of you it already came, other still waiting for that moment to come. But it is coming and this year more than ever, most of us want to turn new white sheet of paper and start 2021; better way than it was whole year 2020.
Let’s leave negativity in the past as I am sure you don’t want me to write about pandemic and other bad things right now. From my point of view 2021 was still very decent year. The biggest positive thing out of everything was, that I was able to spend a lot of time with my family and that is what it matters the most. Health served me well, so I can not complain much. Probably you didn’t click on my post to read about my personal things and how I stand, but to see me doing what I do best here on Hive which I would say is sharing my photography with you.
Before going to photography part, I would like to write few words about my year on Hive which become an important part of my life. I really started to enjoy the time I spend here. On our old social network from which we forked I was not constant, I didn’t find my spot there. I had some good moments, but it was nothing like the moments I am having after Hive came to life. At the start I was very, very small account as I took only about 500 HP from SP. My votes were worth nothing. I was nowhere. Invisible I could say. But never give up! I decided to do 100% power up and I am still riding that train. It get me about 13.000 HP. In less than a year! I am proud on my progress and my work here on Hive. How can I repay that trust from the whole community which helped me get where I am now? My answer is with curation. I started to manually curate for TipU at first, later I added Curangel and now I am focusing on OCD curation at my favorite community which you can guess which is it :) I am happy when I can reward someone and I actually don’t give anything from me, I don’t pay from my pocket if I can say like that. Making other people happy is one of the nicest things mankind knows. Being curator with power brings great responsibility with it as well. I do my best, but who works also do some mistake from time to time.
In the past I did some thank you name calling, but I was small at that time… I could count my supporters on fingers from one hand, now this base grew and I would rather skip that part that I wouldn’t miss on someone. Anyway I have to mention @ocd which supports my work and work of many others! Thank you OCD team and thank you to all fellow curators from all the supported communities for supporting my work.
Make that enough for intro. I will be short going forward as well. You know I am not the best writer, so I rather express myself through photography and leave description/opinion to you.
Travel related year 2020 for me was almost normal. I planned my biggest travel for 2020 which was to Ethiopia, for the beginning of 2020 when there was no pandemic yet. Another travel outside of my home country was through the summer when situation was relatively under control and I took advantage to visit Iceland for my second time. I also had a nice summer family vacation to neighbor country Croatia and did a lot of research in my homeland Slovenia.
You probably thought that this year will end sooner than you will see my photos, but here they come. Enjoy and wish you all the best in years to come! Also don’t remember to HIVE ON!
Iceland
First and biggest part of my best photos from 2020 is coming from amazing destination which is paradise for photography. Especially if you are focusing on landscape, nature photography, Iceland is probably before all other destinations I visited. One fact why is because you can stop everywhere and do shots and they will turn out great. Country is relatively small, but has so much to offer. You could spent months there, so my 10 days passed really fast, but I returned with couple of thousands photos. You can think how hard the selection was. I probably missed some beauties, but hey I will for sure share them in the future.
Enjoy the photos and make sure you put Iceland on your bucket list if it is not there yet :)
Ethiopia
Next destination is Ethiopia. Probably not a lot of you stepped in this country so that offers additional interest in photos to come. Here it is harder to present the destination to you. With Iceland it was different. Photos make it even nicer sometimes, but Ethiopia is people. You have to live that place. Sure some photos are nice and that is why I am sharing it with you today, but the real beauty is experience how these people leave. I did almost twice as much clicks in Ethiopia then in Iceland. Most of them were people photography, but Ethiopia offers some pretty nice landscapes and special places.

Slovenia
We came to the nicest country in the World :) I have to be a bit patriotic, hope you don’t mind. Following photos were taken in my home country Slovenia this year. Some of you who were reading my posts through summer already know that our government gave each citizen 200 EUR vouchers for accommodation to boost domestic tourism and help this sector. For me, that was better than give me 200 EUR in cash as I would probably not spent them on travel then, but getting a voucher I had amazing time exploring and enjoying life with my family.
It didn’t stop only with enjoying as Slovenia has so much to offer and similar to Iceland it is an amazing small destination which you never can’t get enough.
As a result quite a few photos were created, but I selected only 5 of them to share today in my year 2020 review.
Hard to close the year better, than living the memories again. Thank you Hive to give me that opportunity.
