Gothic in the Russian hinterland

Saratov region, village Kamenka, Church of St. Mary. The former German settlement of Ber, now Kamenka, after the name of the river on which the village is located. At the end of the 17th century, the first wooden church was built. After standing for about a century, the church burned down. In its place, in 1907, a new brick church was built. In the mid-1930s, the temple was handed over for rural needs. For a long time there were grain warehouses inside the building. Until the early 2000s, a wooden roof was preserved on the temple. But it was eventually destroyed by fire. As local historians say, the building can be restored, but no one will allocate funds for this...
