Hello HIVEs!
Once a year, my friend Andreas visits me from my old home in eastern Germany. He had set off with his Triumph T300. Andreas is a fan of Triumph motorbikes. We share a fascination for the technology and vehicles. On this balmy summer evening, we spontaneously had a photo shoot under my carport. After a few beers, we just felt like playing with the subject a bit. After the pictures had been lying dormant on my hard drive for over two years, I don't want to keep them from you any longer.
Einmal im Jahr besucht mich mein Freund Andreas aus meiner alten Heimat im Osten Deutschlands. Er hatte sich mit seiner Triumph T300 auf den Weg gemacht. Andreas ist Fan von Triumph-Motorrädern. Die Faszination für die Technik und Fahrzeuge teilen wir. An diesem lauen Sommerabend kam es spontan zu einem Fotoshooting unter meinem Carport. Wir hatten nach ein paar Bierchen einfach Lust, ein bisschen mit dem Thema zu spielen. Nachdem die Bilder seit über zwei Jahren auf meiner Festplatte schlummerten, möchte ich euch diese nicht länger vorenthalten.

Triumph
The fan community of the Triumph brand is large. After all, it is the second oldest motorbike brand in the world still in production after Royal Enfield. The Triumph brand has an eventful history. Motorbikes, cars, bicycles, sewing machines and typewriters have been produced under this brand name. Production took place in Great Britain and Germany. Today, there are production facilities in Great Britain and Thailand.
Die Fangemeinde der Marke Triumph ist groß. Schließlich handelt es sich um die zweitälteste noch produzierende Motorrad-Marke der Welt nach Royal Enfield. Die Marke Triumph hat eine bewegte Geschichte. Unter diesem Markennamen wurden Motorräder, Autos, Fahrräder, Nähmaschinen auch Schreibmaschinen hergestellt. Produziert wurde in Großbritannien und Deutschland. Heute gibt es Produktionsstätten in Großbritannien und Thailand.

You don't see any burnout in the cover picture! I wouldn't have allowed that in my newly paved driveway either. I created the fog with the help of a fog machine. I illuminated the motorbike first from the front left and then from behind with an EMISAR D18. Of course, the flag somehow belongs to the brand. I realised this in the second picture with the help of a pixel stick. I had previously created a BMP file of the flag and loaded it into the pixel stick. If you drag the pixel stick through the picture in a wave motion after the start, you get a waving flag.
Ihr seht keinen Burnout im Titelbild! Das hätte ich in meiner neu gepflasterten Einfahrt auch nicht zugelassen. Den Nebel erzeugte ich mit Hilfe einer Nebelmaschine. Das Motorrad beleuchtete ich erst von vorne links und danach von hinten mit einer EMISAR D18. Natürlich gehört die Flagge irgendwie zur Marke. Das realisierte ich im zweiten Bild mit Hilfe eines Pixelsticks. Zuvor hatte ich eine BMP-Datei der Flagge erstellt und in den Pixelstick geladen. Wenn man den Pixelstick nach dem Start in Wellenbewegung durch das Bild zieht, erhält man eine wehende Flagge.

In the picture above, Andreas can be seen with a light saber, consisting of an acrylic rod on a torch with a blue filter, on his shoulder. Here, too, the fog machine was used and the scene was lit from the left front and back with an EMISAR D18.
Below, I used the Pixelstick once again. It was a short, simple light painting session on my doorstep. We had lots of fun and the odd beer or two. I hope it comes across to you in the same way. Have a great Sunday!
Auf dem Bild oben ist Andreas mit einem Leuchtschwert, bestehend aus einem Acrylstab an einer Taschenlampe mit blauen Filter, auf der Schulter zu sehen. Auch hier wurde die Nebelmaschine eingesetzt und die Szene von links vorn und hinten mit einer EMISAR D18 beleuchtet.
Unten setzte ich noch einmal den Pixelstick ein. Es war eine kurze, einfache Lightpainting-Session vor meiner Haustür. Wir hatten jede Menge Spass und das eine oder andere Bierchen. Ich hoffe, es kommt genau so zu euch rüber. Ich wünsche euch einen schönen Sonntag!

What Is Light Painting?
Light painting is a unique art form. As a rule, the darkness is illuminated by the artist with various light sources and traces of light are painted into the picture with various lighting tools. Various techniques are used, such as camera rotation or other movements of the camera during exposure. The creative possibilities are almost unlimited. When using ND filters, this technique can also be used in daylight. All images were taken during a single exposure. Apart from denoising, sharpening, cropping and possibly adjusting the white balance, the images are not processed on the computer.
Lichtmalerei ist eine einzigartige Kunstform. In der Regel wird die Dunkelheit mit diversen Lichtquellen vom Künstler ausgeleuchtet und Lichtspuren mit diversen Lichtwerkzeugen ins Bild gemalt. Dabei kommen verschiedene Techniken zum Einsatz, wie Kamerarotation oder andere Bewegungen der Kamera während der Belichtung. Die kreativen Möglichkeiten sind nahezu unbegrenzt. Bei Einsatz von ND-Filtern kann diese Technik auch bei Tageslicht angewand werden. Alle Bilder wurden während einer einzigen Belichtung aufgenommen. Abgesehen vom Entrauschen, Schärfen, Beschneiden und eventuellem Anpassen des Weißabgleichs werden die Bilder nicht am Computer bearbeitet.
