One church, one story.

Hello! I share with you some pictures I took a few days ago in La Asuncion, capital of Nueva Esparta State, specifically in Bolivar Square, there stands out the Catholic Church of Our Lady of the Assumption, one of the two oldest churches in the country and was rebuilt between 1609-1621. Last year it was under maintenance, the competent authorities have sought to preserve it.I use Redmi 10 A and Samsung Galaxy J2 Prime phones.

That day the weather played in my favor and gave me a great sun to give a nice background to these pictures, the first picture is my favorite, it is precisely that part of the structure of the church that attracts attention, it has beautiful shapes, near the church there is a small restaurant where you can buy souvenirs. You connect with the boulevard 1ero de Julio which is another access to the church.

La Asuncion is a quiet town, usually locals or visitors have the option of sitting on the benches in the plaza, from here another angle of the church in the background.

Near the church you can appreciate the Monument to the Bells, belonging to the old bell tower and that today are exhibited in the Plaza Bolivar, very close, imposing the church which looks a repaired facade.

Another angle of the church, note the bell tower, more visible here the bells, the lanterns add a nice touch as well as the vegetation. The streets are made of cement, it is said that these streets were built by prisoners during the dictatorship of General Juan Vicente Gomez.

The square that surrounds the church is part of the beautiful ornamentation that surrounds it, you can see a work of the great Venezuelan artist Francisco Narvaez and a monument in honor of the heroine Luisa Cáceres de Arismendi from Caracas and Margarita de Arismendi. As you can see there is a lot of history here, I end with the back view of this church and a selfie of the writer, an amateur photographer who enjoys sharing photos with you and continues to learn every day.
