Red coins of Azerbaijan

Hello friends, photo lovers.

I have already introduced you to the photos of the coins of the Republic of Azerbaijan. At that time, these were coins in denominations of 50, 20 and 10 gapiks. Today I will show you photos of the smallest coins of this republic. They were put into circulation in 2006 and their design has not changed since then. Interestingly, all of these coins do not have a release date.

So first of all, the largest of today's coins presented by me is 5 gapiks. All coins, including this one, are in perfect condition. They sparkle like a real mirror. Therefore, it was quite difficult for me to shoot them. I used a special lens that can be attached to the lenses of a smartphone.

The reverse of this coin depicts an ancient tower, which is located in the capital of Azerbaijan - Baku. It is called "Girlish". It got its name from the legend about a girl who did not want to marry an unloved person and threw herself from the top of this tower into the sea.

The construction of the tower itself dates back to the 12th century. At one time it was used as a lighthouse.

The obverse of the coin, as well as the obverse of all other coins, has a map of the republic.
The edge of the coin (edging) is fluted.

The next coin is 3 gapiks. It depicts a large book and a pen with which records were made in ancient times.

I do not know which books are depicted on the coin, but most likely they do not have a specific meaning. I know that in the Middle Ages, culture and science were very well developed in Asian countries. Therefore, it was quite appropriate to place books on a coin.

All three coins are minted from steel and covered with copper on top. That's why they have such a red color.

And the last coin is the smallest. This is 1 gapik. The reverse of this coin depicts the national musical instruments of Azerbaijan.

I tried to find out exactly what musical instruments are depicted there. They seem to be called "daf", "kemancha" and "tar".

The art of playing the tar is included in the UNESCO list of masterpieces of intangible heritage.

All coins were minted not on the territory of Azerbaijan, but in the European state of Austria.

It is remarkable that the authors of the design of these coins have tried to depict all the achievements and heritage of the country.

Beautiful coins have become collectibles. And I think the citizens of the country themselves are pleased to hold them in their hands.
