A Havana Style Wedding

Back to the fascinating world of photography in the streets of Havana, I present you today this great photoshoot that we did in different locations of the city, some of them new to me (as incredible as it may seem) that I'll be explaining during the tour.

The first of all is a well-known classic, the restaurant “Al Carbon” located at the intersection of Aguacate and Chacon, with its colonial architecture and its giant flag that makes it a great favorite of all.

From there, we entered the historic colonial quarter of the city along Empedrado Street, which leads us to the famous bar and restaurant La Bodeguita del Medio, and then to the Plaza de la Catedral (Cathedral Square).

It was at this point that we arrived at our first new location of the day. Following the suggestion of the driver of the classic car, we approached the Castillo de La Punta and asked for permission to enter (not without first slipping a generous tip to the security guard) because the place is not open to the public. Once inside we went to the perimeter wall and from there the view dazzled us, we fell in love at first sight ... literally drove us crazy!

Next we headed to one of the most famous restaurants in all of Cuba, this time as suggested by the clients themselves. This is “La Guarida”, and its well-deserved fame comes for many reasons. One of them is its rich architecture and apparently neglected and antique look that many people love. Another is that it has received many international awards, something usually reserved for countries with a much greater gastronomic and tourist tradition than Cuba. And finally, and the most colorful of all, is that in 1994 it served as a location for the film “Strawberry and Chocolate”, the only Cuban production nominated for an Oscar award to date.

We ended this long and exhausting, but very productive day in the Bosque de La Habana, another of the most famous places in the city and still a favorite of many for their photos.

I hope you enjoyed the trip as much as we did, so I invite you to follow me for more exciting adventures. Best regards!
