Sunrise in Salthill on the West Coast of Ireland

This Morning

I count my lucky stars on mornings like today. I am truely blessed to live on Ireland's rugged West coast and even more blessed to live close to the Atlantic ocean and Galway's famous bay. Here she is in all her glory this morning at 7:15am.

I joined my brother and brother-in-law for a dip or early morning swim. The lads go every weekday at 6:30am for a swim to kick-start their day. I occasionally join them. There are few better ways to start your day and it makes me feel energised and alive when I get into the icy cold water. It's a real tonic and I can see how the guys go every morning. It's not just good for the body either, but is good for the end also.

It was dark when we arrived but slowly our colourful celestial companion joined us for a chat and shone warm upon our cold mottled skin. There is just something pure and beautiful about a sunrise on a clear morning like today was. It caused me to pause momentarily and give thanks for all I have going for me.

It's not just sunrise that is beautiful in Salthill either, sunset too is exquisite, A friend of mine captured this beautiful Salthill sunset recently and I simply love it. I really do love in a beautiful city, a city loved as much by tourists as its inhabitants.

If you live near the coast or a lake even, start getting in for those early morning dips. I promise you won't regret it.

The first three photos were taken by me with my Samsung smartphone and the other was taken by my friend

Thanks as always for stopping by everyone.

Peace Out
