This is a kind of compendium of photos taken during the surf season at times when they ride waves that are not of interest to them. Either because they are resting, or because they are counting the trains of waves while they wait for the one that really interests them, or simply when they are rising on their way to deeper waters.
I like to photograph them when the salty ridges collide with them. I stand as low as possible on the shore so that the horizon disappears when the wave and the surfer rise together and collide at the top. There are magical moments at sunset when the waves, the surfers and the sunlight come together. The first two photos in this post corroborate this. The atmosphere of cold colors of the sea combine with the warm light of the sun on the skin of my photographed subject and that gives me an unmatched contrast when they are on top of the wall.
Este es una especie de compendio de fotos que hecho en temporada de surf en momentos en que ellos remontan las olas que no son de su interés. Bien porque están descansando, bien porque están contando los trenes de olas mientras esperan el que de verdad les interesa, o simplemente cuando van remontando en su camino hacia aguas más profundas.
Me gusta retratarlos cuando las crestas saladas chocan con ellos. Me pongo lo más bajo posible en la orilla para que el horizonte desaparezca cuando la ola y el surfero suben juntos y chocan en la cúspide. Hay momentos mágicos en los atardeceres cuando se suman las olas, los surferos y la luz del sol. LAs dos primeras fotos de este post así lo corroboran. La atmósfera de colores fríos del mar se conjugan con la luz cálida del sol en la piel de mi sujeto fotografiado y eso me regala un contraste inigualable cuando están encima de la muralla.
