Es grato para mí participar del Hive Music Festival en su primera semana. La primera vez que participe en un festival fue en la escuela primaria, y tengo recuerdos muy vagos de este. Creo que canté La Malagueña de Miguel Aceves Mejía. Yo creo que no lo recuerdo muy bien, porque no gane nada.😀 Hoy quiero compartir con ustedes en la primera ronda un Bolero titulado «Cenizas» de José Feliciano. Agradezco a @edwardstobia por la invitación y por esta excelente iniciativa para todos los artistas de la comunidad de #Music.
It is a pleasure for me to participate in the Hive Music Festival in its first week. The first time I participated in a festival was in elementary school, and I have very vague memories of it. I think I sang La Malagueña by Miguel Aceves Mejía. I think I don't remember it very well, because I didn't win anything.😁 Today I want to share with you in the first round a Bolero titled «Cenizas» by José Feliciano. I thank @edwardstobia for the invitation and this excellent initiative for all the artists in the #Music community.
La canción original fue compuesta por el músico y compositor Mexicano Manuel Wello Rivas. En esta oportunidad interpreto con la trompeta la versión de José Feliciano, pero con unos pocos cambios en la melodía. La letra tiene un carácter nostálgico, triste y de despecho. Yo creo que el refrán “Donde hubo fuego, cenizas quedan” es una buena descripción para esta canción. Es notable el orgullo y la dignidad ante un corazón lastimado. Nuestros antepasados como que vivían deprimidos, porque así es el Bolero, una mezcla de romance, y decepción.
The original song was composed by Mexican musician and composer Manuel Wello Rivas. On this occasion, he interpreted the José Feliciano version with the trumpet, but with a few changes in the melody. The lyrics have a nostalgic, sad, and spiteful character. I think the saying "Where there was fire, ashes remain" is a good description of this song. The pride and dignity in the face of a broken heart are remarkable. Our ancestors kind of lived depressed, because that's how Bolero is, a mixture of romance and disappointment.
El Bolero es una forma de expresión genuina, de angustia, de despecho y refleja una tragedia en el amor. Es la Historia de un amor y de desencanto. Pienso que era el Psicólogo o el terapista que recurrían nuestros antepasados. Antes la gente iba a un especialista de la Psicología o de la Psiquiatría cuando ya estaba loca, o era juzgada por la familia y amigos por conductas que se salían de los parámetros sociales, y culturales. Era la búsqueda de ayuda en los extremos. Para problemas comunes, el Bolero era una forma de expresarse y decir así me siento. Hoy día pocas canciones ofrecen esa salida, y ya es común ir a un terapista, un Coach, un especialista en la psicología para cosas triviales como el Amor, y el despecho.
The Bolero is a form of genuine expression, of anguish, of spite, and reflects a tragedy in love. It is the story of love and disenchantment. I think it was the psychologist or the therapist that our ancestors used. Before, people went to a psychology or psychiatry specialist when they were already crazy or were judged by family and friends for behaviors that went beyond social and cultural parameters. It was the search for help in the extremes. For common problems, the Bolero was a way of expressing oneself and saying how I feel. Today few songs offer that outlet, and it is already common to go to a therapist, a coach, or a specialist in psychology for trivial things like love, and spite.
Por varias semanas estaremos de fiesta compartiendo nuestro talento, disfrutando de las presentaciones e interactuando y como todo festival habrá una premiación. Como siempre le digo a mis estudiantes, el participar es ganancia, porque uno crece espiritualmente y en habilidades. For several weeks we will be partying sharing our talent, enjoying the presentations, and interacting, and like any festival, there will be an award ceremony.
