Big Bad Voodoo Daddy are completely in the tradition of the legendary big bands from Tommy Dorsey to Glenn Miller. The successful mixture of swing and jazz unfolds, especially live on stage. BBVD, as the band is shortened, performs in front of an audience at least 100 times a year. Invitations to the Super Bowl or TV appearances, like the one on the Tonight Show, aren't included.

It's really true. The band has been on the road for 28 years, year after year. Founded in 1994 in Ventura, California, the band reels off the programme year after year and has sold more than 2 million albums so far.
There was a bit of risk behind revitalizing classic American swing jazz at a time when Kurt Cobain was shaking up the scene with Nirvana.

Es steckte ein wenig Risiko dahinter, in einer Zeit, als Kurt Cobain mit Nirvana die Szene aufmischten, den klassischen, amerikanischen Swing-Jazz neu zu beleben.
Big Bad Voodoo Daddy are Scotty Morris (lead vocals and guitar), Kurt Sodergren (drums), Dirk Shumaker (upright bass and vocals), Andy Rowley (baritone saxophone and vocals), Glen "The Kid" Marhevka (trumpet), Karl Hunter (saxophones and clarinet) and Joshua Levy (piano and arranger).
This mixture of excellent musicians sees no reason to leave the chosen path in the future.
