69 years ago today, the song that was a bigger hit than any other for Elvis Presley was first recorded and stayed at the top of the R&B charts for seven weeks straight. Wait, R&B? Yes, the original singer - Big Mama Thornton and the Johnny Otis Band were the original artists. It wasn't until 4 years later that Elvis heard a revised version of it and made it his own, which, stayed on top of the charts for 11 weeks. It was undoubtedly the song that propelled him to superstardom and began his reign as the 'King of Rock-n-Roll'.

We now honor those that are using our family tag - #thealliance. These 'history' posts are getting some attention as I also include my three picks for the time period between posts. The three creators are beneficiaries of these posts. What would be a good number for today? Well, I wasn't even born in 1956, in fact - I'm alive now, so we'll go with 12%, sound fair?
