New Tunes 9.9.2022

Hello music lovers! 🎡🎧🎡

Again #newtunes suggestions for the weekend! Concerts are moving to halls, big names to big ones, small names to clubs :)
The week-long media influence has also put pressure on my ears and here's what's still ringing in my head.

Maybe there's something for you too. If you keep exploring it's OK, if you don't it's fine too :) 😎
You can skip what you don't like.

Foo Fighters ft. Shane Hawkins Perform "My Hero" | MTV

A few days ago, there was a concert in London at Wembley in memory of Taylor Hawkins, the late drummer of the Foo Fighters. This benefit concert was attended by many well-known artists, but the most moving performance was certainly by Shane Hawkins, son of the late drummer, who played drums during the performance of My Hero.
The emotional performance left no one indifferent, and Shane became a media star. Highly recommended.

Osees - Funeral Solution

Californian and often renamed sonic chameleons Osees have a new album "A Foul Form", which is aggressive and dirty and doesn't ignore the shortcomings of their own production. That's actually its charm.
Noise and sound loops are a foot in the internalized bile of old-school hardcore. As befits HC, this song was recorded in the vocalist's trashed basement.

Terror - Pain Into Power

After a four-year hiatus, the cult fathers of American hardcore have swung from the depths of Los Angeles to announce their return. The new album "Pain Into Power" is an integral part of the hardcore legacy and a kind of salute to the still-living old guard of hardcore "look at us, together through the good and mostly through a lot of bad". I admit another bit of excess of a forgotten but still alive genre that doesn't give up.

Arctic Monkeys - There’d Better Be A Mirrorball

One of the more established (for me) indie bands Arctic Monkeys has a new, seventh album "The Car" coming out in two weeks, and here is the first official single from it.

Garage band at the beginning, world attraction at the peak. They live and grow old with their music, which is why this song sounds so cynical and timeless.

Moor Mother - Meditation Rag

For the second time this year, I'm listening to Moor Mother, an American poet, rapper, and producer. Camae Ayewa steadfastly resists superstar status, but thanks to the nature of her music, she resides in a controlled embrace of limited visibility within a healthy underground. Her trajectory, musical originality, otherness, and also her non-commercial attitude have naturally not passed the radar of music knowers.

This song is taken from her latest album "Jazz Codes", which will undoubtedly put her back on the pedestal of the mother of jazzy hip-hop.

Doomcannon - Uncovering Truth

A new name for me. Dominic Canning or DoomCannon is a South London-based multi-instrumentalist, jazz composer, and musical director for the already eminent British soul singer Celeste, well, in July he released his debut album Renaissance, which again pushes the boundaries of the new London jazz scene by absorbing hip-hop, R&B, and the broken rhythmic structure of some of the offshoots of electronica. Recommended.

Sex Pistols - God Save The Queen

You have to have respect for the dead and all that, but when I was a teenager I remembered Queen Elizabeth II and it was through this song that became like a kind of anthem for punks, which I was at the time. This song, I think, landed at number two in the English charts after the Sex Pistols premiered it on a boat called Queen Elisabeth on the Thames, in front of Parliament, just in time for the Queen's 25th anniversary of her coronation, way back in 1977. Of course, they were all arrested...
And what has changed since then?
R.I.P. Queen Elisabeth

Gov't Mule - Ain't No Love

To calm down a bit, for the end, a great live cover of the classic Ain't No Love In The Heart Of The City performed by Gov't Mule, who is especially well known for their various covers... recommended.
