Three Tune Tuesday: Slow Jams

Hey everyone.

I’m super excited to be part of the community and to dive into one of my favorite things—music. A little about me: I’m into 90s music, especially those sad songs that really hit deep, but I also love discovering new tracks that speak to the heart.

For this week’s Three Tune Tuesday, I decided to mix two classics from the 90s with a fresh track from 2024. Music is more than just sound for me—it’s the emotion, the message, and sometimes, a soundtrack to life’s moments. So, here’s my take on three songs that I think are pure masterpieces.

  1. "If He Wanted to He Would" by Kylie (2024)

This song is a fresh, modern anthem of self-worth and empowerment. Kylie perfectly captures the realization that if someone truly cared, they’d show it through actions, not just words. It's a reflection of letting go of the weight of expectations and moving forward with dignity. The subtle blend of pop and soft electronic elements makes this track both soothing and strong, perfect for when you need a reminder that you deserve better. Its 2024 sound gives it a contemporary feel, but the emotional depth brings out the universal theme of self-love and clarity in relationships.

  2. "Irreplaceable" by Rihanna (90s)

Rihanna’s Irreplaceable is a timeless ballad of independence and strength after heartbreak. Its R&B and pop fusion, typical of the 90s, allows it to hit deep emotional notes while still maintaining a catchy, memorable rhythm. I love this song because it’s more than just a breakup anthem—it’s a reminder of how powerful we can be when we refuse to settle for less. The lyrics, “You must not know ‘bout me,” are iconic, giving listeners a strong sense of empowerment even when dealing with difficult emotions. It stands as a masterclass in blending vulnerability with resilience.

  3. "Gallery" by Mario Vasquez
I couldn't find an image for this one...

Gallery is a 2000s R&B hit that touches on the bittersweet realization of unrequited love. Mario Vasquez's smooth vocals carry the pain of watching someone you care about being stuck in a toxic relationship. The metaphor of a gallery full of past loves is powerful, representing how we sometimes hold on to people who don’t deserve our time. I love this song for its vulnerability and honesty, and the way it captures the struggle of letting go. Its mix of R&B beats and heartfelt lyrics makes it a masterpiece, perfect for those reflective moments when you’re sorting through emotions.

Each of these songs stands out in its own way, but together they create a journey of emotion—from recognizing self-worth to reclaiming power and seeking love. Whether you're nostalgic for the 90s or connecting with today’s music, these tracks are undeniable gems.
