House Or Trance? There's 12 Minutes Of It In Any Case - Invader 👽

"Now hold on a second Nicky! You're telling me you've made a 12 minute track and you don't know whether it's house or trance?"

Yeah today's tune is a long 'un in true classic trance style... or is it trance?! Maybe it's house... I don't know. Once I branch out of the drum and bass genre, I have no idea what the different nuances are... some have said it's "Goa"?

Either way, this one is a bit of a journey and finding a way to keep the tune going for 12 minutes with a 140 BPM 4 to the floor beat was an added challenge.

However, I drew my inspiration from some of the progressive house music tunes I used to listen to a lot back in the early 2000s from Ministry of Sound to see how they did it seeing as I could zone out and the next thing I knew, it was over.

The intro straight in with the crunchy kick, DJ friendly of course, can't have them not being able to mix in a track.

I was playing around with some resonance on that opening synth which gives that kind of "space seagull" sound that @tygertyger commented on one time when this one was played out on the One Tribe Radio show earlier in the year.

Then it's pure hands up, drugged up to your eyeballs, tripping on thin air atmosphere before building things up to the first drop. That atmosphere comes back in again before culminating in a dreamy 2nd half.

As always, a nice long outro for the DJs to mix in their next track (if any you legends have downloaded this and featured in your sets, I salute you)!

The meaning behind the track? Well, I made it after a girl came along and ruined a good friendship I had at Uni. As Will Ferrell said in his Matrix parody scene as the architect, the dude was "pussy whipped"! Anyway, we got a tune out of it, hurray lol!

Hope you enjoy this one.
