Sharing Some Tunes For TTT

I tend to write about and share some songs that have recently found themselves on my playlist, or which have resurfaced after not being listened to in a good while.

Arcade Fire - Neon Bible

I saw this before years ago, and it was the first thing of Arcade Fire I'd ever seen and I was blown away by it. The idea of them all playing this song in an elevator, only to go out to play their gig but doing so by taking a pit stop in the middle of the audience to play a song.

This version goes on for a few minutes before the song actually starts to be played, but I love the start of gigs where the band is doing their bits and pieces beforehand and getting ready.

Slipknot had a great one when they played in London back in 2007, and recorded the entire thing.

Arcade Fire popped into my head because they're playing over here in Ireland at some point this year, and I might go and see them.

Lumineers - Ho Hey

This - again - is the first thing of the Lumineers I'd ever heard and I just thought it was really cool.

I'm not mad about either of these bands, but recently I was flicking around and decided to check them out again. Funnily enough, the people who filmed these two things are the same. A Take Away Show.

This lot actually did take away the show as they go for a bit of a wonder for the other song they play, The Big Parade. Which I like more than the first one. I love songs with a good amount of backing vocals, I love hearing lyrics being thrown back. We tend to do this a bit in our band, and it's a bit of fun.

Jake Bugg - Two Fingers

I really like this song, and similar to the others it's one of the only songs of the artist that I know.

The first time I heard this was years ago when I was at a gig that the brother of a mate of mine was doing, and his band did a cover of it. After the gig I heard it a couple more times and since then I've gone back to it occasionally to listen to it.

I love the chorus of this tune, and think there's a fair bit of emotion to it, while also remaining upbeat.

Each of the songs I shared are - in a way - summer songs, or at least as far as I'm concerned they are. It can't come fast enough, to be honest, I'm done with winter at the moment.

It'll also be cool bringing the baby down to the beach and places like that. Well, I say baby, but by summer he'll be a toddler, walking around and getting into much more mischief than he's currently able to get into.
