Music Monday | The chill of Jako Jako

My last couple of days have been extremely low pace due to a lack of energy. Nothing bad or weird, just ongoing bugs and sneezing which doesn't seem to go away. And when it nearly finally is? That is about the time where I go outside and catch the next bug due to the low resistance.

I guess this is how young parents feel when the kids bring all the virusses inside over and over again for weeks. Only here, I am the one to blame, but still. I am looking forward to getting back into good energy again.

It's not like I am in bed all day, nothing like that at all. But you know how it goes, everything seems te be costing a lot more energy that it normally should.

At that is when you need some laid back music for in the background. And that is where Jako Jako steps on in to go into chill modus for me!

Amygdala

Ahhh....nothing like a good old part of the brain to make the titel of a song with! The amygdala is the piece of the brain where the memories and emotions set in and I totally get it why you would choose that as a song titel.

So according to Spotify (it is kind of hard finding info about her online!) this fine lady started off with a nursing career and eventually left that to work in the synthesizer shop in Berlin called Schneidersladen. That is I guess what living in Berlin does with you as ofcourse it is all electronic music over there.

So Jako Jako has a love for modular synths and you can hear that. Working a modular synths to a way that others like to listen to it is a work of art, so kudos!

Objekt

Coming from the 'Metamorphose' album already from 2022 that is the album you need when you really want some chill sessions. I guess some of you will immediately hear the resemblence with the synth sound that Nils Frahm also uses, or is it just me that I thought about that?

Yeah this is really ambient I know, and surely it is not always usable for every setting. But for some chill time with this in the background, yeah that seems valid. For me this would also work to drift off to sleep in an airplane I gues.

This whole album is just a really nice drift off album if you ask me. Small disclaimer, if you are waiting for the beat and the climax in these songs...you can wait a long time!

Boiler Room in Mongolia

So I guess by now you are thinking that it is all chill vibes and beachy music in the background with Jako Jako. And that is not true at all, because she also has sets that really tend to pick up the pace and give it a good swing. Boiler room in Mongolia? Talk about a cool switch, who would have thought that this would be popular there as well!

But for me this is good at the moment for when I actually have to do stuff again to get myself into place for a bit and get some energy flowing again. But as you see, entirely different vibes, even though there is also some ambient inside of there!

That is one skilled lady right there!
