Hello everybody on HIVE, and especially the Music Community. My name is Jasper and I'm writing to you from Cape Town in South Africa!
Welcome to "Three Tune Tuesday", an initiative started by @ablaze. It is week 140 overall! My current pattern for how I will be contributing to TTT is to take the Hive Open Mic challenge Theme of the Week and give suggestions on how I would tackle it!
For those of you who are not familiar, the Hive Open Mic is a weekly challenge on the Hive Open Mic community for anybody who loves to sing. You don’t even need to play an instrument, a backing track or a cappella is also fine as far as I can tell!
Different artists are given the chance to choose a “Theme of the Week” that the posts should be based on. Often it can be difficult for people to think about easy songs that might fit that theme… so let me see if I can be of any assistance to the people who still might not know what to try by the time Tuesday comes around!

As you can see, it was the turn of @boeltermc to pick a theme, and this week the theme is “Brasil”, or as we English-speakers spell it - Brazil!
Ooh, that’s actually a really tough one…
SONG NUMBER 1
“Girl from Ipanema” – Frank Sinatra
As far as I understand, this is merely the most well known English version of what is actually a Brazilian song with Portuguese lyrics that was a big hit in the 1960s. Ipanema also happens to be a place in Brazil. It is believed to be the second most recorded song in pop history, behind “Yesterday” by the Beatles:
SONG NUMBER 2
“Copacabana (At the Copa)” – Barry Manilow
I think this is Barry Manilow’s most famous song about a tragedy at a dance club named after Copacabana beach in Brazil!
SONG NUMBER 3
“Obvious Child” – Paul Simon
A beautiful song (it’s Paul Simon what do you expect?) – but this one is accompanied by a Brazilian Drum Collective called Olodum, and the video features footage of Brazilian sites and culture (including the martial art Capoeira!).
So that's week 140 done and dusted! I hope that gave some people some ideas on how to tackle the Hive Open Mic Challenge this week? Perhaps I’ve even inspired one or two new people to give it a try? Please let me know!

Bienvenidos a "Three Tune Tuesday", una iniciativa iniciada por @ablaze. ¡Es la semana 140 en total! Mi patrón actual sobre cómo contribuiré a TTT es tomar el tema de la semana del desafío Hive Open Mic y dar sugerencias sobre cómo lo abordaría.
Para aquellos de ustedes que no están familiarizados, Hive Open Mic es un desafío semanal en la comunidad de Hive Open Mic para cualquiera que ame cantar. ¡Ni siquiera necesitas tocar un instrumento, por lo que yo sé, una pista de acompañamiento o a capela también está bien!
Diferentes artistas tienen la oportunidad de elegir un “Tema de la semana” en el que se basarán las publicaciones. A menudo puede resultar difícil para las personas pensar en canciones sencillas que puedan encajar en ese tema... ¡así que déjenme ver si puedo ser de alguna ayuda para las personas que quizás todavía no sepan qué probar cuando llegue el martes!

Hasta donde tengo entendido, esta es simplemente la versión en inglés más conocida de lo que en realidad es una canción brasileña con letra portuguesa que fue un gran éxito en la década de 1960. Ipanema también es un lugar en Brasil. Se cree que es la segunda canción más grabada en la historia del pop, detrás de “Yesterday” de los Beatles:
