Hello everybody on HIVE, and especially the Music Community. My name is Jasper and I'm writing (and singing) to you from Cape Town, South Africa.
So far, I am still quite new to HIVE, and with about 1100HP to my name, my upvote on other people's posts is still quite small. I find that I am really grateful for everybody who has been voting up my posts to get me to this stage, and I wish that I could give people larger rewards myself in thanks.
Lately I have been using Ecency points to boost other people's posts and that certainly helps me to support other people's accounts (when I have the Ecency points to share) - but I was wondering if I could do more for the people that interact with me?
And so I have come up with an idea that I hope will really work!
I would like to do a weekly cover request post on the Music Community, where I share 50% of the post rewards in HP with the account that requested the winning cover song in the comments of the previous week's post.
To get started, I asked my friends on the newly formed "Hive South Africa" community to give me some requests, and what an eclectic bunch of requests they were, many of which I had never heard in my life before, such as songs from old South African bands, 21 Pilots, and even introduction music to Anime shows. Wow I learnt a lot!
Eventually, for this first edition, I have chosen @pixelhuntersam as the winner! She chose "Toss a Coin to your Witcher" - the first song that the bard sings for Geralt in "The Witcher" series! Here is the original which is made to sound like it's from the middle-ages to go with the TV show:

To be honest, I'm actually on a roadtrip for work at the moment, and don't have my normal microphone and amp with me... but I did bring along a guitar and sat myself in the bathroom of the guesthouse I'm staying in to have enough lighting and a small room so that I'd hopefully be loud enough to sing for you.
This was a challenging song to sing because of the impressive range! I will leave the lyrics down below!
