Hello everybody on HIVE, and especially the Music Community. My name is Jasper and I'm writing (and singing) to you from Cape Town, South Africa.
This is my fourth week contributing to "Three Tunes Tuesday", started by @ablaze.
I am trying to stick to a set pattern, where I perform 2 cover songs (written by famous artists) and 1 original song (written by me) around a theme. This week I've chosen the emotionally-charged theme of a cheater being discovered!
The first song is by Carrie Underwood, who won the fourth season of American Idol back in 2005, but unlike many Idol winners, actually followed that up by releasing some Country Music bangers like "Before He Cheats", and some Grammy awards!
The second song is by another grammy winner, a blues musician by the name of Robert Cray. His song "Right Next Door (Because of Me)" tells the classic cheater story, but this time from the perspective of "the other man"...
Finally we come to my own original song called "Who's Been Messing with my Baby?". To the guitarists out there who don't recognise my chord shapes, I tune the guitar differently to play this song. The tuning is called DADGAD and I would encourage you to try it out! In fact, I have written a HIVE post where I explain that it's not that hard and give the basic chord shapes for you to try so please check that out here if you're interested!
