Aún recuerdo cuando tenía alrededor de 9 años de edad y mi profesor de música me dijo que tenía condiciones para la dirección. La versed, ¿No sé qué pasó? era una niña apenas, no sabía de mis gustos o de lo que deseaba ser cuando fuese grande, ya que me Había cambiado de mujer bombera, enfermera, veterinaria, maestra con tan facilidad que no enfocaba en algo, lo que si era definitivo era que tenía era vocación de servicio y seas ganas de ayudar a toros, que aún mantengo. Esas palabras y seriedad de mi profesor de música hizo que me pusiera en movimiento. Definitivamente, algo se activó en mi interior.

Yo creo que tomé mi primera decisión de vida, y esa fue empezar a participar en las filas de una coral. Mi profesor al darse cuenta de que tenía una habilidad me dijo que quería invitarme a estar en el coro de niños del colegio. Y yo acepté auntie la versed no sabía de que se trataba.

Recuerdo que llegué a la casa le notifiqué a mi mamá que de ahora en adelante dos días a la semana en la tarde iría a la escuela para ensayar. Desde allí cambió mi vida completamente, de una manera si se quiere fortuita o, tal vez no. ¿No creen?

Sencillamente escuché la voz de mi profesor y tomé una decisión determinante, quizás una de las más importantes de mi vida. Así, empecé a tener la disciplina de ir a todos los ensayos, a aprenderme las letras, las canciones que, aunque ahora podría verlas sencillas era completamente desconocido para mí. El profe nos hacía muchos ejercicios vocales, rítmicos, melódicos y nos iba adentrando en ese entorno musical que luego se convertiría en una matrix donde me sentía plena y en bienestar. Lamento enormemente no recordar el nombre de aquel profesor de la Escuela Básica donde estudié en Caracas, porque gracias a él, yo me di cuenta de que tenía un don y encontré un lugar reconfortante para mi ser; parte de mi esencia, la música, la cual definitivamente es parte de mi bienestar. Considero que los profesores que nos ayudan y acompañan a encontrarnos a nosotros mismos son uno héroes. Con esta intro los invito a leer el porqué considero que pertenecer a las filas de una coral es una experiencia maravillosa.

Y seguí el camino de la música

Luego de ese primer contacto, cuando cambié de colegio y de lugar de residencia en el país, fue una profesora de música se dio cuenta de mi condición vocal durante la temporada de navidad así participé en parrandones y un coro que interpretable aguinaldos en la escuela y en la comunidad. Y también me seleccionó y preparó para participar en unos festival de voz infantil como solista. ¡Qué nervios!, pero lo logré y salí ilesa.

Luego en el liceo paso algo similar, me inscribí en la Banda del Lice Sucre y tocaba el granadero. Sin embargo, no había presupuesto para los instrumentos y uniformed, así que la Banda se convirtió en coro. El profe me escuchó cantar y me invitó a otro coro. Comencé a cantar en un coro de adultos y, aunque parecía una mascota, me aprendía mis piezas musicales y me lo tomaba con mucha disciplina. Estando en esa coral, inclusive llegué a cantar el himno nacional de Venezuela a uno de los presidentes de la república.

Llegué a la universidad y seguí cantando

Tardé un poco en entrar en las filas de la Coral de la Facultad de Ciencias de la UCV; y es que quería adaptarme a la vida universitaria y bueno, para ser honesta estudiar química demandaba mucho tiempo. Me resultaba complicado tener actividades extracurriculares y esophaguses podia influir negativamente en mi desempeño.

Pero una vez que hice la audición y me aceptaron, ingresé a ese grupo y me encantó y, aunque algunas experiencias no fueron tan gratas y cantar en una agrupación es una actividad super exigente ahí me mantuve, firme y determinada, buscando el equilibrio entre la ciencia y la música. Canté por más de 12 años, aunque me tomé una pausa para power terminar las materias y la Carrera.

Mi vida y en la Coral de la Facultad de Ciencias estuvo bastante activa entre múltiples conciertos en el recinto universitario y en muchas localidades de Caracas, iglesias, salones, teatros, salas de conciertos, parques y hasta en el Ávila, y fuimos un par de veces a Maracay, estado Aragua.

También estuve en una gira a Italia y participé en varios conciertos sinfónico-corales y en la grabación de discos. Pero lo más importante era lo que iba aprendiendo en paralelo.

Los beneficios colaterales de cantar en una coral

Siempre destacaré en todas partes, que no solo se aprenden canciones y se educa la voz en las corales. De hecho, tuvimos varios profesores de canto, compartimos con varios directores, recibimos apoyo para la pronunciación de Latín, Francés, Inglés, Italiano, Alemán e incluso asesoría de imagen personal o más bien grupal (ja ja ja). Sino que se ganan muchos valores y hay cosas que se van incorporando a nuestra vida, se convierten en hábito y nos caracteriza.

Por ejemplo:

Disciplina y constancia, ser disciplinada e incluso perseverante creo que me viene de la experiencia coral. Porque hay que asistir a los ensayos, prestar atención y enfocarse hasta que salga un pasaje de una pieza o, inclusive una sola nota que quizás es difícil en algún momento. Organizar el tiempo entre las actividades y appender por partes e integrar.

Trabajo en equipo y responsabilidad. Darse cuenta de que el resultado final depende de todas las voces y no de una pocas, que se debe unificar cada voz, es decir los tenores, los bajos, las contratos y las sopranos, así como reconocer y aprovechar las destrezas o condiciones de cada quién es parte del trabajo. En esto los directores definitivamente son grandes gerentes y muchos deberíamos aprender se ellos. Aunque pueden resultarnos antipáticos o muy exigentes en algunas oportunidades. Pero al sentir el resulted cambia cualquier sensación que pudiera catalogarse como negativa.

Compañerismo y respeto, definitivamente aprendemos a reconocer y a valorar al otro, a preocuparnos y a apoyarnos. Incluso se genera un conexión cuando se está cantando porque se espera para respirar en algunos sitios donde no respiren los compañeros más cercanos para mantener el sonido o se deja que algunos se encarguen de hacer los pianos porque tienen más facilidad. Y esto ocurre sin intercambio de palabras basta irte reconociendo cómo parte de un todo. Cada quién en su Lugar, y aunque los egos afloran, mayormente se controla la situación y se obtienen buenos resultados.

Amistad y disfrute, siempre hay tiempo y espacio para todo y antes durante o después, detrás del escenario las bromas las risas y la amistad va manifestándose y apareciendo espontáneamente con la convivencia. Estar con gente que tiene los mismos gustos, con los que se coincide en varios aspectos es maravilloso. Se logra tanto esa conexión que podemos llegar a sentirnos familia con algunas de esas personas. De hecho, actualmente una parte importante de esos amigos de la coral aún mantenemos contacto continuo gracias a la tecnología y aunque ya no estoy en Caracas he ido en algunas oportunidades y nos reencontramos. De hecho, si reflexiono un poco gran parte de mis amigos más cercanos estancia relacionados con la música.

Hoy dedico esta publicación a la música que une las almas con sus hilos invisibles e indestructibles y, a esos profesionales de la música que comporten sus talentos con el mundo

I still remember when I was around 9 years old and my music teacher told me I had conditions for directing. The versed, I don't know what happened. I was just a girl, I didn't know about my tastes or what I wanted to be when I grew up, since I had changed my female firefighter, nurse, veterinarian, and teacher so easily that I didn't focus on anything, what was definitive was that I had a vocation for service and a desire to help bulls, which I still maintain. Those words and seriousness from my music teacher got me moving. Something definitely activated inside me.

I think I made my first decision in life, and that was to start participating in the ranks of a choir. My teacher, realizing that he had an ability, told me that he wanted to invite me to be in the boys' choir at school. And I accepted auntie la versed did not know what it was.

I remember when I got home I notified my mom that from now on I would go to school two days a week in the afternoon to rehearse. From there my life changed completely, in a fortuitous way, if you like, or maybe not. They do not believe?

I simply listened to the voice of my teacher and made a decisive decision, perhaps one of the most important in my life. Thus, I began to have the discipline to go to all the rehearsals, to learn the lyrics, the songs that, although I could now see them as simple, were completely unknown to me. The teacher gave us a lot of vocal, rhythmic, and melodic exercises and we were getting into that musical environment that would later become a matrix where I felt full and well-being. I greatly regret not remembering the name of that teacher at the Basic School where I studied in Caracas, because thanks to him, I realized that I had a gift and found a comforting place for myself; part of my essence, music, which is definitely part of my well-being. I consider that the teachers who help us and accompany us to find ourselves are heroes. With this intro, I invite you to read why I consider that belonging to the ranks of a choir is a wonderful experience.

And I followed the path of music

After that first contact, when I changed schools and places of residence in the country, it was a music teacher who noticed my vocal condition during the Christmas season so I participated in parties and a choir that interpretable Christmas bonuses at school and in the community. And he also selected and prepared me to participate in a children's voice festival as a soloist. What nerves!, but I managed it and came out unscathed.

Later, something similar happened in high school, I enrolled in the Banda del Lice Sucre and played the grenadier. However, there was no budget for the instruments and uniforms, so the Band became a choir. The teacher heard me sing and invited me to another choir. I began to sing in an adult choir and, although it seemed like a pet, it learned my musical pieces and I took it very disciplined. Being in that choir, I even got to sing the Venezuelan national anthem to one of the presidents of the republic.

I got to college and kept singing

It took me a while to join the ranks of the Choir of the Faculty of Sciences of the UCV, and it is that I wanted to adapt to university life, and well, to be honest, studying chemistry demanded a lot of time. It was difficult for me to have extracurricular activities and esophaguses could negatively influence my performance.

But once I auditioned and they accepted me, I joined that group and I loved it, although some experiences were not so pleasant and singing in a group is a very demanding activity, I stayed there, firm and determined, looking for the balance between science and music. I sang for more than 12 years, although I took a break to finish the subjects and my Career.

My life and the Choir of the Faculty of Sciences were quite active between multiple concerts on the university campus and in many places in Caracas, churches, halls, theaters, concert halls, parks, and even in Ávila, and we were a couple of times to Maracay, Aragua state.

I was also on a tour to Italy and participated in several symphonic-choral concerts and in the recording of records. But the most important thing was what I was learning in parallel.

The collateral benefits of singing in a choir

I will always emphasize everywhere that not only songs are learned and the voice is educated in choirs. In fact, we had several singing teachers, we shared with several directors, we received support for the pronunciation of Latin, French, English, Italian, German, and even personal or rather group image consulting (ha ha ha). Rather, many values are gained and there are things that are incorporated into our lives, they become a habit and characterize us.

For example:

Discipline and perseverance, being disciplined and even persevering I think comes from my choral experience. Because you have to attend rehearsals, pay attention and focus until a passage of a piece comes out or even a single note that maybe is difficult at some point. Organize the time between activities and appender by parts and integrate.

Teamwork and responsibility. Realize that the final result depends on all the voices and not on a few, that each voice must be unified, that is, the tenors, the basses, the contracts and the sopranos, as well as recognizing and taking advantage of the skills or conditions of each who is part of the job. In this, directors are definitely great managers and many of us should learn from them. Although they can be unpleasant or very demanding on some occasions. But feeling the result changes any sensation that could be classified as negative.

Companionship and respect, we definitely learn to recognize and value each other, to care for and support each other. A connection is even generated when you are singing because you wait to breathe in some places where your closest companions do not breathe to maintain the sound or you let someone take care of making the pianos because they have more facility. And this happens without an exchange of words, it is enough to recognize how part of a whole. Everyone is in her place, and although egos come to the fore, the situation is mostly controlled and good results are obtained.

Friendship and enjoyment, there is always time and space for everything and before, during, or after, behind the scenes, the jokes, the laughter, and the friendship manifest themselves and appears spontaneously with coexistence. Being with people who have the same tastes, with whom you agree on various aspects is wonderful. This connection is achieved so much that we can feel like family with some of those people. In fact, currently, an important part of those friends of the choir still maintain continuous contact thanks to technology and although I am no longer in Caracas I have gone on a few occasions and we meet again. In fact, if I think about it a lot of my closest friends stay related to music.
