My Music Life

Hello guys... it's been a while for not sharing with anything.. here some of my stuff that I want to share to you that I'm so proud of..

Some traditional musical instruments used by Sabahan people:

  1. Sompoton: A bamboo mouth organ played by the Kadazan-Dusun community, usually in ensemble with other instruments.

  2. Suling: A traditional flute commonly used by various indigenous groups in Sabah.

  3. Gong: Large bronze or brass gongs are integral to traditional music in Sabah, often played in ensembles called kulintangan, which consists of a set of individually tuned gongs.

  4. Tangkung/Tangkong: A single-stringed lute-like instrument played by the Rungus community.

  1. Sundatang: A traditional stringed instrument played by the Kadazan-Dusun community, somewhat similar to a guitar.

  1. Bungkau: A bamboo mouth harp played by the Murut people. These instruments are used in various ceremonial and festive occasions, such as weddings, harvest festivals (like the Kadazan-Dusun Kaamatan festival), and cultural performances, where they accompany traditional dances and rituals.

Traditional music plays a significant role in preserving the cultural heritage and identity of Sabahan people.

This is bamboo saxophone made by friend of mine. The sound is so beautiful and mostly like the original sound of real saxophone..

Recently, I'm learning to play a various traditional music instrument and looking some new modern music that I can relate to traditional music to combine as a contemporary traditional musical. Thanx for supporting!!
