Hola amigos amantes de la música en Hive. Hoy les quiero contar que Imagine Dragons, mi banda favorita, va a venir a dar un show en mi país y por suerte pude conseguir entradas.

Estoy muy feliz porque sigo a la banda desde su álbum debut Night Visions, hace ya 10 años, pero nunca había podido ir a verlos en vivo. Así que era una meta pendiente que muy pronto voy a poder saldar. Me gustaría que toquen canciones de todos sus álbumes, ya que no pude verlos en todas esas oportunidades que vinieron.
I'm very happy because I've been following the band since their debut album Night Visions, 10 years ago, but I had never been able to see them live. So it was a pending goal that very soon I will be able to pay off. I would like them to play songs from all their albums, since I couldn't see them in all those opportunities they came.
Así que la idea de esta publicación es hablarles de mi canción favorita de cada álbum hasta el momento. La banda tiene 5 álbumes de estudio incluyendo el último que se dividió en dos partes diferentes: Mercury Act I y Act 2.
So the idea of this post is to tell you about my favorite song from each album so far. The band has 5 studio albums including the last one which was split into two different parts: Mercury Act I and Act 2.
Empecemos con Night Visions
Let's start with Night Visions.
El álbum salió en el 2012 con un total de 20 canciones en su versión deluxe.
The album was released in 2012 with a total of 20 songs in its deluxe version.
Mi canción favorita de este álbum es Hear Me.
Solía identificarme y todavía lo hace. Habla sobre querer tener alguien que te escuché aunque a veces es difícil, la cabeza está llena de ruidos y pensamientos intrusivos que no te permiten ni escucharte a vos mismo, te ahogan y no podes ni respirar, pero querés liberarte y para ello necesitas alguien que esté ahí, dispuesto a escuchar. Es como un grito de ayuda.
My favorite song on this album is Hear Me.
I used to relate to it and still do. It talks about wanting to have someone to listen to you even though sometimes it's hard, your head is full of intrusive noises and thoughts that don't even allow you to listen to yourself, they drown you out and you can't even breathe, but you want to free yourself and for that you need someone who is there, willing to listen. It is like a cry for help.
Smoke + Mirrors
El segundo álbum salió en el 2015 y contiene 22 canciones en su versión deluxe.
The second album was released in 2015 and contains 22 songs in its deluxe version.
Mi canción favorita de este álbum es Shots.
Shots es esa canción en la que te disculpas por las cosas que decís y haces que puedan llegar a lastimar a las personas que amas. Muchas veces inconscientemente, no es que uno lo hace a propósito. Pero uno carga muchas cosas que te sobrepasan y terminas disparando las balas a las personas que están a tu alrededor y te quieren.
My favorite song on this album is Shots.
Shots is that song where you apologize for the things you say and do that might hurt the people you love. A lot of times unconsciously, not that you do it on purpose. But you carry a lot of things that overtake you and you end up shooting bullets at the people who are around you and love you.
Evolve
El tercer álbum es mi favorito de la banda, salió en el 2017 y contiene 12 canciones.
The third album is my favorite from the band, it came out in 2017 and contains 12 songs.
Mi canción favorita está vez es Walking The Wire.
Es una canción de amor en su estado más puro. Es saber que te lanzaste a caminar en la cuerda floja pero valió la pena. Va a haber muchos obstáculos en el camino, momentos difíciles que pasar con tu pareja. Pero, ¿es que el amor no lo vale? Lo importante es arriesgarse.
My favorite song this time is Walking The Wire.
It's a love song at its purest. It's knowing that you threw yourself into walking a tightrope but it was worth it. There are going to be a lot of obstacles along the way, tough times to go through with your partner. But isn't love worth it? The important thing is to take the risk.
Origins
El cuarto álbum de la banda. Este salió en el año 2018, bastante pegadito al anterior, pero es que el cantante, Dan Reynolds, tenía mucho que decir. Contiene 15 canciones en su versión deluxe.
The band's fourth album. This one came out in 2018, pretty much sticking to the previous one, but that's because the singer, Dan Reynolds, had a lot to say. It contains 15 songs in its deluxe version.
Mi canción favorita de este álbum es Birds.
Esta canción habla de dos personas que se aman pero no pudieron soportar los obstáculos en el camino y se ven en la difícil decisión de volar por diferentes caminos. Me gusta la simbología de los pájaros, de cómo tienen que estar en libertad, aunque uno los amé. Nacieron para ser libres y surcar los cielos. Por eso habla de dejar ir. La vida es difícil y te hará madurar. Nada dura para siempre, pero quizá en esa maduración se pueda volver a intentar.
My favorite song from this album is Birds.
This song talks about two people who love each other but couldn't stand the obstacles in the way and are faced with the difficult decision to fly different ways. I like the symbolism of the birds, how they have to be in freedom, even though one loved them. They were born to be free and take to the skies. That's why it talks about letting go. Life is hard and it will make you grow up. Nothing lasts forever, but maybe in that maturation you can try again.
Mercury
Este es el quinto álbum. Es un todo, pero dividido en dos partes.
This is the fifth album. It is a whole, but divided into two parts.
Mercury Act 1 salió en el año 2021. Este álbum nos habla de lo difícil de las pérdidas. Después de un 2020 difícil. Tiene 12 canciones.
Mercury Act 1 came out in 2021. This album tells us about how difficult losses are. After a difficult 2020. It has 12 songs.
Mi canción favorita es Dull Knives.
Esta canción nos habla del sentimiento de sentir que algo te corta por dentro. Sabes que algo está mal, pero no demostras nada por fuera. La procesión es por dentro. Mientras tanto haces tu vida normal, como si todo estuviera bien, pero por dentro sabes que es mentira. Te desborda sobre todo cuando estás solo y no tenes que mentir.
My favorite song is Dull Knives.
This song talks about the feeling of being cut inside. You know something is wrong, but you don't show anything on the outside. The procession is on the inside. In the meantime you go about your normal life, as if everything is fine, but inside you know it's a lie. It overflows you especially when you are alone and you don't have to lie.
Mercury Act 2 salió en el año 2022. Este álbum nos habla del proceso de haber superado las pérdidas y que la vida debe continuar. Es más positivo. Tiene 20 canciones. Aunque el total de las dos partes es de 32.
Mercury Act 2 came out in the year 2022. This album tells us about the process of having overcome losses and that life must go on. It is more positive. It has 20 songs. Although the total of the two parts is 32.
Mi canción favorita de este álbum es Waves.
Me gusta mucho la melodía de esta canción, aunque la letra podría ser confusa. Esta canción creo que nos habla de valorar la vida. Hoy estamos, mañana no lo sabemos. Así que no esperemos porque la vida no lo hace. Lánzate a las olas.
My favorite song on this album is Waves.
I really like the melody of this song, although the lyrics could be confusing. This song I think speaks to us about valuing life. Today we are, tomorrow we don't know. So let's not wait because life doesn't. Throw yourself into the waves.
Como verán, toda la interpretación que hice de las canciones es personal, es mi manera de verlo, lo que me transmiten y me parece que están diciendo estás canciones. No es el significado real, aunque podría haber acertado algunos. Es un trabajo de interpretación subjetivo de mi parte para ustedes.
As you will see, all the interpretation I made of the songs is personal, it is my way of seeing it, what they transmit to me and what I think these songs are saying. It is not the real meaning, although I might have got some of them right. It is a subjective work of interpretation on my part for you.
