Considerado como el “Groove Master” y uno de los bajistas más influyentes en el funk jazz “Paul Jackson” es un músico y bajista norteamericano nacido en california en 1947, que desde apenas los 9 años ya tocaba muy bien el contrabajo y en pocos años ya formaba parte de la orquesta sinfónica de Oakland. Es un bajista muy reconocido por llevar el Groove del bajo a otros niveles, gozando de una técnica para el jazz y el funk jazz muy particular, logrando ese tan magnifico Groove que lo caracteriza y que lo llevó a convertirse en uno de los bajistas más solicitados desde los años 70´s. actualmente se encuentra en Japón como país de residencia y desde allá realiza proyectos muy curiosos y realmente llamativos que se basan en llevar a las escuelas la cultura jazz y la raza negra por épocas antiguas en lo que a la música se refiere, además de seguir haciendo música con excelentes músicos japoneses.

Además ha colaborado con una increíble cantidad de grupos y músicos de los cuales nombrarlos todos gastaría más de mil palabras, pero destacan de ellos la banda de jazz “Chic Korea” el músico norteamericano “Stevie Wonder”, grandes músicos como: Larry Graham, Jan Hammer, Jimmy Smith, Stanley Clarke y muchos más.
