Howdy, Hivers. On many occasions I have covered several bands with my electric bass and as a bass player, I have been asked which are the best bass players or the best known of the bands to which I do these reviews and covers, in this was born the idea of also talk a little of the member of the bands that may be ignored, which are the bass players; but although it seems arrogant to say it and more by a bass player himself, the bass plays an extremely important role in any group for the harmonic and melodic importance it represents. The bassist I am going to tell you about today may not be well known for his virtuosity as a performer, but for being a singer and bassist for the heavy metal band Motörhead. "Lemmy Kilmister" is a British musician, composer, bassist and singer, who moved to meet girls and get some money made himself of a guitar and at 18 he was already playing in bars and clubs in local bands in the city of Conwy, moved and influenced by a Beatles concert he attended and was captivated by the band's style and John Lennon's playing.

En muchas ocasiones he realizado cover de diversas bandas con mi bajo eléctrico y como bajista, me han preguntado cuales son los mejores bajistas o los más conocidos de las bandas al cual les hago estas reseñas y covers, en esto nace la idea de también hablarles un poco del miembro de las bandas que tal vez sea ignorado, que son los bajistas; pero aunque parezca arrogante decirlo y más por un propio bajista, el bajo juega un rol sumamente importante en cualquier agrupación por la importancia armónica y melódica que representa. El bajista del cual les hablaré el día de hoy, tal vez no sea muy conocido por su virtuosismo como ejecutante, pero si por ser cantante y bajista de la banda de heavy metal Motörhead. “Lemmy Kilmister” es un músico, compositor, bajista y cantante británico, que movido por conocer chicas y obtener algún dinero se hizo de una guitarra y a sus 18 años ya tocaba en bares y clubes en bandas locales de la ciudad de Conwy, movido e influenciado por un concierto de los Beatles al cual asistió y quedó cautivado por el estilo de la banda y por la forma de tocar de John Lennon.
MUSICAL HISTORY
Lemmy in the beginning was part of locally recognized bands and with some song that had a good reception outside the city, but it was not until being bassist and lead vocal occasionally of the British band "Hawkwind" which was successful and remained On the charts on British radio stations with 3rd place, with what was known as Space Rock, he gave an incredible diversity of sounds to his bass to adapt to the theme of the genre. Lemmy, after certain conflicts with some members of the band, formed another band that at first was called "Bastard" and later was called by the name we know today "Motörhead". With the albums Ace of Spades and Overkill, between 1980 and 1981, the band had greater recognition throughout the United Kingdom and the world. Lemmy, despite his health problems, always remained active until a concert in Aspen where he exclaimed that he couldn't take it anymore. He died in 2015 in his apartment in Los Angeles.
Lemmy en sus inicios formó parte de bandas reconocidas a nivel local y con alguna canción que tuvo buena receptividad fuera de la ciudad, pero no fue sino hasta ser bajista y voz principal ocasionalmente de la banda británica “Hawkwind” el cual tuvo éxito y se mantuvo en las listas de música en las radios británicas con el 3er puesto, con lo que se conocía como Rock espacial, le daba una increíble diversidad de sonidos a su bajo para adaptar a la temática del género. Lemmy, luego de ciertos conflictos con algunos integrantes de la banda, formó otra banda que al principio se llamaba “Bastard” para luego ser llamada con el nombre que hoy conocemos “Motörhead”. Con los álbumes Ace of Spades y Overkill, entre 1980 y 1981, la banda tuvo mayor reconocimiento en todo reino unido y el mundo. Lemmy, a pesar de sus problemas de salud siempre se mantuvo activo hasta un concierto en aspen donde exclamó que no podía más. Muere en 2015 en su apartamento en los Angeles.
1. Techniques used by Lemmy Kilmister
Regarding the technique used by Lemmy, he used a pick and is not really known for great virtuosity, but for an excellent ability to play and sing, being one of those who had very little errors when playing bass and singing. He had a very eccentric way of playing, he was a true rockstar, always using a very rock and roll style.
Con respecto a la técnica usada por Lemmy, este usaba púa y realmente no es conocido por una gran virtuosidad, pero si por una excelente habilidad para tocar y cantar, siendo uno de los que muy poco tenía errores al ejecutar el bajo y cantar. Poseía una forma muy excéntrica de tocar, era un verdadero rockstar, siempre usando un estilo muy del rock and roll.
