Hoy quiero contarles sobre lo que fue mi experiencia en los ensayos con la Orquesta de Rock Sinfónico Simón Bolívar para un tributo a Coldplay aún estando en cuarentena.

Today I want to tell you about my experience in rehearsals with the Simón Bolívar Symphonic Rock Orchestra for a Coldplay tribute while we were still in quarantine.

Creo que ninguno de nosotros nos imaginamos que íbamos a vivir una pandemia y siento que indudablemente nos ha creado conciencia en diferentes aspectos.

I don't think any of us imagined we were about to live through a pandemic and I feel that it has certainly raised our awareness in different ways.

Les confieso que al iniciar la cuarentena nunca pasó por mi mente que duraríamos mas de un año en esto, pero afortunadamente, han ingeniado soluciones para continuar haciendo lo que nos gusta, de una manera responsable.

I confess that when I started the quarantine it never crossed my mind that we would last more than a year in this, but fortunately, they have devised solutions to continue doing what we love, in a responsible way.

¿Cómo han sido los ensayos?

Como parte de las medidas de bioseguridad, una de las más relevantes ha sido la reducción que hacen de la orquesta.

Por ejemplo, antes de el Covid-19, la fila de violines era de aproximadamente 8 personas y esta vez fue de 4; así como también, los atriles que normalmente son para 2 personas, estaban organizados individualmente. Esto facilita el distanciamiento entre los integrantes de la orquesta y por supuesto, cada uno con su mascarilla.

How have the rehearsals been?

As part of the biosecurity measures, one of the most relevant has been the reduction of the orchestra.

For example, before Covid-19, the row of violins was of approximately 8 people and this time it was of 4; as well as the lecterns that normally are for 2 people, were organized individually. This facilitates the distancing between the members of the orchestra and of course, each one with his mask.

Tocando en un videoclip y no en vivo

En esta ocasión, hicimos la grabación de un videoclip, ya que los conciertos presenciales estaban suspendidos.

Playing on a video clip and not live

On this occasion, we recorded a video clip, since the on-site concerts were suspended.

Se realizaron 5 ensayos, los cuales fueron bastante agradables ya que tenía mucho tiempo sin tocar dentro de una orquesta y además, tuve la oportunidad de ver a mis compañeros.

There were 5 rehearsals, which were quite pleasant since I had a long time without playing in an orchestra and also, I had the opportunity to see my colleagues.

Estoy muy feliz de haber vuelto y sobretodo por tocar canciones de esta banda que tanto me gusta.
