Hello friends, I hope you have a good start of the day. Remember to stretch 10 minutes after getting up to have a better blood circulation. Today I will teach you how to understand the staff and its notes, this topic when I saw it for the first time only caused me dizziness and more confusion, but when I came to understand it I realized that it is a bit complex but quite useful, therefore today I bring you the first class of music theory. Having said all this let's start.

A staff is the combination of two words: penta (which means five) and grama (which means letter, written). In other words, a staff is a set of five lines.

The musical staff is created with five horizontal, parallel lines where we will represent the musical notes today.
To understand a little of its structure we must know that the staff contains 9 spaces in total to write musical notes, counting the spaces between each line of course.

The staff allows us to represent the pitches of the notes on it. When a note is written at the top of the staff, it will be sharp, and if it is written at the bottom, it will represent a low note.

For this example we will use the G clef, taking into account that the G note is the second line from the bottom to the top. Knowing which note each line represents, we can deduce which clef it is in, although normally only the keys of F, G, and C are used.

Having this basic information at hand we can recreate certain simple pieces to learn this. A simple but concrete example of a pentagram practice would be star where are you.

With a regular practice of 2 or 3 times a week you will be able to understand these things by heart, create your own more complex melodies, as well as get your favorite songs by practicing on sheet music.
