My Morning -> Afternoon

Upon awakening today, I planned to finish hiking the eastern face at the northern side of Cootes Paradise trails, and Sanctuary by the Arboretum of the Royal Botanical Gardens, in Dundas, ON. found here - https://www.pinkbike.com/u/Trezzath/blog/royal-botanical-gardens-arboretum-cootes-paradise.html
Another endeavour, I was to finish up from hiking the western face of the same, just two days later (here: @trezzahn/actifit-trezzahn-20220706t012501103z).
After planning my trip, I fixed up some breakfast and coffee, and then finished up my mornings' workings of crypto-apps, -Phoneum, PI, COIN and the such - crypto-generation, dailies, passives, miners, faucets, and monitors; crypto-economics with CoinGecko, CryptoPanic, and HodL; crypto-finances with CryptoMarket and CoinMarketCap; expenses, and budgeting.
I checked up on Web3 Dev. with OpenBlox, RunBlox, Melos Studios, and ProjectGalaxy's NFTs; updated myself on some crypto-news with Aliens, BovineVerse, CreatD, Notion, Noble, and Medium, including checking up on HIVE with Ecency and PeakD.
With morning routine complete, I now planned out my map first with AllTrails, then my trails with Strava and TrailForks; I went through some routing and reviewed the trail with GaiaGPS, then prepared my PinkBike blog for my pictures tonight and subsequent linking to ActiFit!
Almost ready to leave, I took care of my botany, in and outdoor garden, front and back yards, plantings, herbs and botany, packing my backpack for the afternoon right after and preparing to catch my first bus around 9am!

Boarding my first bus, I arrived at my next destination,

Excited to begin my journey,

I eventually arrived around 11am!

North Shore, Eastern-Face

Hiking down Old Guelph Road,

I arrived at the Arboretum,

And began down Anishinaabe Waadiziwin Side Trail around 11:20am!

The trail winded around,

Eventually straightening out.

Snapping shots,

I continued,

And hiked down the side trail,

Reading history along the way,

And enjoying the vibrant colours surrounding me,

All the while!

After a few turns,

I was on way past my next trail,

And lookout!

Passing the bay,

I reached the Nature Centre Main Trail,

Snapping a shot of the hefty stairs,

And continuing on,

I passed some more open water,

And reached a cozy little rest spot!

After reaching Pine Point Lookout,

I took a view of Hickory Island,

Continued along a little ways,

Until reaching the Captain Cootes - Intersection,

And heading up,

Hiking up,

The beautiful,

Pine Point - Nature Centre Off-Side Trail,

Passing signage,

I reached the top,

Heading back easterly,

Passing the Lilac Collection,

Passing shrub,

And forest alike,

I traveled along the Hickory Valley - Nature Centre Connector,

Reaching the beginning of my next journey!

My Afternoon -> Evening

Now, heading toward the Lilac Walk,

And subsequent Lilac Walk Main Trail;

I passed many-a beautiful flowers,

Berries,

And other,

Trees of every sort,

I learned about the area,

And reached the Nature Centre Main Trail just after,

Winding around,

Passing parallel to Lilac's and trees the same,

I continued,

Down the wayward path,

Reaching the Anishinaabe Waadiziwin Connector,

And circling around,

Re-routing back up,

I pressed on,

Onward through the forest,

And around the bend,

Now, attempting the Native Trees Trail!

Heading down,

I was cliffside,

I ventured, arriving now at the bottom of the trail,

Traveling back up,

And through the grass,

Eventually arriving at the beginning of the Hickory Valley Trail

After heading back west down Old Guelph Road,

Further toward the Anishinaabe Waadiziwin Connection,

I passed this old trunk,

And headed down the trail a-ways,

Getting a beautiful view,

Passing by what was left of the Hickory Brook,

And reaching Hickory Valley Lookout where I reconnected with the Anishinaabe Waadiziwin Side Trail!

I now headed further south/west,

Up Grey Doe Side Trail,

With a beautiful sun high up,

I traversed the forest,

My final trail before finishing up this north shore of Cootes Paradise Sanctuary,

Continuing,

The forest was yet even more green and vibrant!

And trees, so tall!

I eventually reached the Homestead-Pinetum/Bruce Side Trail,

And after a little hike through the Pinetum, reached the trail exit back where the Hickory Valley Side Trail also began.

Passing Raspberry House, I reached the Arboretum,

And ultimately the end of my adventures on the north shore for the day!

South Shore

Heading down York Rd,

I reached a great view of Hamilton Harbour,

And heading over York Bridge,

Snapped some shots,

One on either of my phones,

Switching over to the latter now to save battery,

I passed under the highway,

Reaching the Fishaway,

And subsequent Desjardins Canal Trail;

Passing resting spots along-way,

I continued down the long and straight,

Reaching the canal bridge,

And snapping shots of both the bay,

And canal,

Before heading my way over,

To the Princess Point Entryway,

Seeing this cool mushroom first,

I started down the trailhead,

From which I began my next journey!

Heading uphill,

I passed a beautiful vista,

And heading out onto the wood lookout,

Took note of the area around me and where I had been today!

Continuing,

I took the west path,

Heading into the forest,

Leading to a nice boardwalk/bridge,

With an even nicer view!

After taking a glance,

I continued on,

Along the trail,

And through the forest,

Traveling around this circle,

Through some clay-ladden soil,

To yet another lookout!

This resting spot showing some style,

I found some beautiful flowers right beside,

And after continuing onward,

Westerly,

I reached the Ginger Valley Trail,

And after a hike through the forest,

Found myself again in amongst some different soil,

Continuing on,

Past the guided signage,

I passed towering trees,

And soon enough,

Began a downhill hike,

Heading down,

To Ravine Road Trail,

Where I next headed westerly up,

Circling around the main street to Caleb's Walk,

And traveling along Caleb's Walk,

Reaching a boardwalk,

And heading along the cliffside,

Until reaching the Ravine Road Trail Connector again,

And I headed back easterly,

Toward the trailhead,

Beginning Sassafras Trail,

And starting my journey uphill!

I headed through the tightly-knit trees,

Big and tall,

Reaching Sassafras Point Lookout,

And passing by the bay itself upon returning.

Snapping some shots along my arrival back to Ravine Road Trail,

I continued and headed west,

Towards the trailhead by McMaster,

Eventually reaching the school,

Turning around,

And beginning my final hike, Ravine Road Trail,

Through the forest and eventually back to the beginning of the trail-connection!

That was a lot of hiking!

PinkBike + Maps and Routing/Trails to come tomorrow!

My Evening -> Night

Heading back, I reached my final destination by 10:30pm and put together my blog, writings, photos on PinkBike, and AllTrails, Strava, TrailForks, and GaiaGPS trails and routings for the day before linking all to my ActiFit and preparing to sign off for the night!

For today had been a great day before work!

I look forward to my upcoming shifts!

Cheers to yet another good one all, and to tomorrow's, all fellow ActiFitters - the best of days! 🍻
