My Actifit Report Card: Happy New Year 2023

Happy New Year,

It is the beginning of another new year. They just seem to fly by. I had a quiet new year's day. I replied to a few comments and I updated my collection series. It was not much work as I only needed to add about dozen links to for the end of November and December posts.

I did the usual activities of walking Mango the dog and visiting Hamlet the Happy Pig and Lily Goat. I also did my laundry. The rest of the day I spent playing on the PS4 and watching a movie. I almost did not reach the 5,000 counts. I walked around the house and up and down the stairs a few times before bed to hit over the mark. I lost a few counts in the morning as I needed to charge the Fitbit.

I was thinking about New Year's resolutions. Are they a good idea or a bad idea? Maybe they can provide us with motivation to make changes in our lives and be a good thing. Then again, if we feel we need to make changes in our lives, do we need to wait until January 1? What if we do not have any changes planned, should we force yourselves to make changes that we aren't able or ready to keep. Maybe, the new year can offer us a reminder to reflect on our lives. From this reflection, we could pursue a path of change if we honestly feel it is necessary. Just food for thought as our year begins.

My Content

I had a busy week posting content. I posted three times in the week; I normally post twice. The first post was the results of the Christmas Contest. What a great turnout; 29 people entered. The best turnout for a contest in years. It was very competitive. We had a tie, therefore, the tiebreaker rules of first to enter applied. It's a pity this contest did not have a second place prize. To win the contest, participants needed to receive the highest value from three presents they were given. One from themselves, one from the participant before them, and one from the participant after them. There was another prize that was awarded to the participant who gave away the highest value to other participants. This was the first contest in my new economics series of contests. A new contest will begin in a few weeks.

My next two posts were about the shows I attended in the final third of 2022. In Part One, I shared my experience at the the events Jurassic Live, Disney on Ice, and the Beauty and the Beast Musical. The post is full of photographs and a handful of Gifs. Most of them from Disney on Ice. These shows were a lot of fun. The best way for me to share my experience is through photographs.

In Part Two, I focused on my December trip to London. The trip was all about the Harry Potter experience. I also discussed this experience in my previous Actifit Report. However, Part Two contained over 150 photographs and Gifs. I think this is the highest number of photographs I have ever shared in a post. I needed all those photographs as there were so many unique images to share. The number surprised me, I though I could exclude a lot of photographs but so many revealed something new and exciting. So, I decided to post them. All of these photographs pushed me for time, as I wanted both parts posted before the end of the year. I managed to do it.

What's to come in 2023?

I normally have a good idea of what I want to do and achieve in the upcoming year. Then at some point, I end up changing at least half my plans as circumstances tend to change. This year my plans are not so clear. Instead, I will remain open to take a direction as the year moves along a little. I expect to write something about my plans in the next couple of months when I have a better idea.

Once again, I wish everyone a Happy New Year.
