My Actifit Report Card and Update: November 4 2022

Hi Everyone,

It is time for another Actifit Report and Update. I was back out in the garden yesterday. The top tier of the garden needed mowing. It has done for a few weeks but the rain has kept me away. I used the new lawn mower. It was tough going. The grass was dense and infested with some hardcore weeds. Even though it hadn't rained in a day, it was still very wet. This caused the cuttings to clump together and block the mowers blade. Lots of stopping and starting. Pushing it through grass wasn't easy either and the uneven surface didn't help. After I mowed the top tier, I mowed the dog's section of the garden. This was much easier as this section didn't have any weeds.

This should be my last mow of the year. The grass is growing very slowly despite the rain. I think it isn't warm enough and there isn't sufficient sunlight to sustain good growth. So far, it has been a reasonably mild Autumn. This is good since the cost of heating is so high right now. We aim to rely on warmer clothes until or if the weather becomes really bad.

I managed to write 2 posts this week. I started the week with the results post of the Buying and Selling Game. The contest had a good turnout but most of the participants were disqualified for not buying goods in the required quantities. This was surprising since the contest has always had this requirement. The contest for November will begin next week. I'm pushing it forward as I have an announcement to make about future contests. Some big changes to come.

Censorship_THUMB.jpg

In the second post of the week, I wrote about censorship. Censorship is an important topic and It effects some people directly and most people indirectly. I focused on censorship by Government and social media. I discussed how having ownership enables censorship. Owners have the power to determine usage of property, which enables censorship. I discuss the difference between authoritarian Governments and Western style democratic Governments and how the difference to their claim to ownership varies and thus effects their power to censor. I also compare how the desire to censor could vary between Government types as well as the effect population mindsets towards change has on the desire to censor. This post is a continuation of the arguments I made in my post 'The Power to Own'. I recommend that you read that post for greater context.

That wraps this week's Actifit Report and Update. I hope everyone has an awesome weekend and manages to stay active even if the weather is not so good.
