My Actifit Report Card and Update: April 15 2022

Hi Everyone,

It has been quite an eventful week for me. On Sunday, I presented at the Irish Vegan Festival. My sister and I had a one hour slot to present at the festival. My sister talked about animal rescue and performed a live cooking demonstration; she made vegan protein balls with the help of an audience remember. I presented on eating less meat. I discussed people's intention to eat less meat, actual extent of reduced meat consumption, people's reasons for reducing meat consumption, and if reducing meat consumption is a long-run trend. The presentations went well and were well received by the audience.

Overall, the event was very good. The other speakers were very good as well as experienced. Several of them were experts in their field and 2 of them had published books. The event had plenty of stalls selling various vegan products. I was mostly occupied with the food stalls. I bought several different cakes and brownies to try. For lunch, I had a Carribean plantain wrap. The mango chutney was really good.

My Content

I posted twice since my previous Actifit Report and Update. My first post contained a video of my presentation at the Irish Vegan Festival. My second post contained all the videos from my Udemy course, 'Economics is for Everyone'.

My presentation at the Irish Vegan Festival was based on a post I wrote at the end of last year, which focused on reasons for reducing meat consumption and why these reasons matter. The presentation was in much less detail than the post, as I had less time to elaborate (less than 15 minutes to make time for my sister's presentations). However, I managed to get the main point across regarding how reasons can affect our level of commitment to a particular course of action; in this case eating less meat.

The 'Economics is for Everyone' was a tricky and time consuming post to put together. I uploaded all the course videos to both Odysee and YouTube. I embedded the Odysee videos into the post. The embedding appeared to work for the PeakD frontend but not for most others. Hive Blog, LeoFinance, and several other Dapps did not recognise the Odysee videos. This is a shame, as I wanted to share the Odysee videos rather than the YouTube videos. I chose not to use 3Speak, as this would have created 24 separate posts (course has 24 videos) instead of just the one post. The post contains all of the video descriptions as well the 64 multiple-choice questions and 2 scenario questions.

I am going to change the videos embedded to the YouTube versions so that the post can be viewed on all the Hive frontends.

The course along with my collections of works posts will be added to a collections post that can be accessed in the collections tab on PeakD. I want the 'Economics is for Everyone' course post to maintain visibility for as long as possible.

That wraps up this week's Actifit Report and Update. I hope everyone has an awesome Easter. I will be tucking into a chocolate (vegan) Easter Egg tomorrow. It should be yummy.
