My Actifit Report Card and Update: July 12 2021

Hi Actifitters,

I'm posting my Actifit Report on the same day as the counts. This is the first time I've done this in well over a year. I prefer posting the next day as I have more time to pull the post together and I can include all the counts for the day. Today, I had some spare time at the end of the day, so I thought I might as well write the report now.

Today, I had a fairly active day. I took Mango the dog to the lake for our usual walk. The weather was good and it wasn't that busy because it's a Monday. After our walk at the lake, I dropped Mango home and I went to the local shops to pick up some food. We were running low on rice.

Since my previous Actifit Report and Update, I have focused on my seven-week economics challenge series. I have posted the first two challenges. The first challenge was the Buying and Selling Game. The challenge was basically the same as my monthly contests. The only differences were the contest awards. The award is normally 30 Hive. For the challenge series, the award is based on participation. The greater the number of participants, the higher the awards. Another difference is that points are awarded to the top three participants. These points contribute to determining the series winner.

The second challenge I posted is different from any other contest or challenge I have posted before. The second challenge focused on game theory. Participants were presented with 7 boxes and were required to select 4 boxes. The sum of the boxes selected would be used to calculate the participant's score. However, this score changes as more participants enter, participants share the value of the box with the other participants that selected that box. The challenge has several possible win conditions. The first condition is to obtain the highest score. However, if two participants share the highest score, the participant with lowest score wins. However, if two participants share the lowest score, the participant's entering first and second will share the win and the award. The unusual rules are designed to test participants ability to outmaneurve each other to obtain a win condition.

That wraps up this Actifit Report and Update. I hope anyone reading this post gives these challenges a try. Challenge 2 is still running. I will have Challenge 3 ready in a few days. Challenge 3 focuses on Cost Benefit Analysis (CBA). Participants will need to make investment decisions to obtain the highest Net Present Value (NPV).
