“FLY LIKE AN EAGLE!!”😊
Well….. this is actually a Hawk!😇
I watched this “bird of prey” soar far above Sumas Mountain…….or maybe he was watching Silvertop!☺️
It’s amazing how they can glide for hours on the wind currents with very little effort!
As we were hiking, I followed his path in the sky, hoping he would fly over me so I could snap a good photo!
Then he circled, dropped lower, and passed directly over Silvertop!!🤗
Nice……
Can you imagine the spectacular view that this bird has, they can spot small prey from high aloft with their very powerful vision!😲
We were both sharing the Mountain in our own quiet way!
The logging roads go on for many miles on this mountain, just look at the fourth photo. You can see how these roads snake back and forth through the Forest!
In the second to last photo, if you look close, you will see Mr. Westergreen’s green pickup truck, he owns this land.
He was quietly planting more Douglas Fir trees in the logged valley below.
After a couple of years needed for these trees to take root, they will grow about two feet per year!
Take a deep breath, and take this all in…………….
From Mr. Westergreen far below, to the Hawk above, and Silvertop quietly hiking…………….This is home!😊
