Postcards from Thailand #56: Full On Tourist Mode at Coco Tams

The wife had a fellow OT friend down from Chiang Mai with her partner for their first visit to Samui so we decided to go full-on tourist and give them the tour!

We did the waterfalls, big Buddha and cock rock before ending up at Coco Tams, a really well known beach bar and restaurant in the tourist ghetto of Fisherman's Village.

As it was Friday, the market was open, selling the usual range of over-priced fake stuff and general tourist-tat but we skipped all that as they wanted to see the fire show on the beach.

We got there about 5pm to grab a table on the beach and four bean bags and a good thing too, thirty minutes later and they were queuing to gey in. It is high season right now, so it's busy here.

The queue to get in!

Anyway, the fire show was spectacular. The food and drink, not so. The prices, definitely, but we all enjoyed it.

It's nice to become a tourist for a few hours, where we live, it's very local and being so busy with work, forget we live on one of the hottest tourist islands in the world.

I'll try and post more fire show pictures another day. It's well worth catching if you're ever down these parts.

Best wishes to all and hoping you all have a wonderful weekend. It seems being a tourist is good for your step count!!!
