Tablea (or tableya) is a traditional Filipino chocolate made from pure cacao beans. These beans are roasted, ground, and then formed into tablets or balls. Tablea is typically used to make a rich, thick hot chocolate drink known as tsokolate or sikwate.
To prepare tsokolate, you dissolve the tablea in hot water or milk and mix it using a wooden whisk called a batidor or batirol.
