My Actifit Report Card: May 2 2023 - RIP Gordon Lightfoot and All 29 People on the Edmund Fitzgerald

I saw in my news feed that Gordon Lightfoot died. He was a famous Canadian singer/songwriter who had several very popular songs in the 70s. I really like one called The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald, although it is a sad song. It's kind of a Sea Shanty with acoustic and electric guitar that tells the true story of a ship that sank in Lake Superior in 1975 during a raging storm.

Does anyone know where the love of God goes
When the waves turn the minutes to hours?

We could discuss this question that Lightfoot posed in his song but it's fairly faith shaking. The study of Theodicy, popularly called The Problem Of Evil, is something philosophers and theologians spend a lot of time thinking about. Why couldn't an all knowing all loving all powerful deity do something about the terrible death by drowning that these crewmen suffered? You know YOU would save them if you knew everything and had every power and loved everybody. You would try to save them if you could, even as a regular human.

But God didn't. Why? No one knows. It's a mystery. We probably should leave it at that and move on.

MY ACTIVITY

was a walk under a beautiful nearly full moon that a deity or physics created. Whatever you choose to believe, you can enjoy that beautiful moon with all the rest of us. We all share it as it looks down on all of us.

Whatever you believe, I respect you and love you!

Have a great day!!!
