Visual textures in nature - Actifit: August 9 2021

When I walk at my favorite park, I’m often mesmerized by the textured layers of flowers, grasses and cattails in the foreground and trees, fields and sky beyond. It is like a rich visual tapestry.

Some days it really takes my breath away. All these growing things emerge here between the middle of May and the middle of August. And by the time the last few flowers raise their heads to the sun, the trees have begun to fade to orange and gold in preparation for fall.

It is very subtle now, but within a few weeks it will become more pronounced. And we will be asking, “Where is summer going? Why is it leaving us so soon?”

Thank you for visiting!
