Whoooooooo are you! Said the owl to the hikers! He was a big one and hanging out in the trees as we headed up for a hike. No bears today, just the owl and a squirrel. 😅
The morning held ladies Bible study, which was good, and then a couple errands before heading for home. We decided to meet up with Jan in late afternoon because-yes @drlobes, this pic is for you!
First, I couldn’t find my glass pie dish as it got packed away in anticipation of a remodel. So, I went with what I had, which was a glass loaf pan. I’m gluten free for now and this was my first try at gluten free pie crust. It wants to crack easily so it was a bit of a challenge. This is a blackberry/strawberry pie/cobbler, depending on how you want to look at it. It will be dessert tonight. 😁
Back to the hike; we were going to head up Keith and Lynne’s driveway to the spring trail. The reason for this route was-you guessed it-more open and less conducive to bears! (Or so we hoped!🤞). We soon discovered that this trail was too overgrown for a certain hiker who chose to wear shorts today! It was loaded with 2’ tall stinging nettle! So we opted for the second trail that would lead us to Westergreen’s, but weren’t going that far.
