The day dawned with beautiful sunshine ☀️ and warm temperatures. A nice summer day in the making.
We were going on the long hike for the week, but first, I needed to roast 4 pounds of coffee ☕️ ☕️☕️☕️ for a customer on the East Coast. While I did that, @silvertop did some outdoor chores. 😎
Jan had school bus 🚌 training today as school starts on Wednesday and she is a substitute van driver for the school system. It’s not an everyday thing and she enjoys it. Hence, the hike was pushed off into the afternoon so she could finish her training and I could finish roasting.
We met up and headed up to Westergreen’s property. He is a land baron and a logger as well as a tree conservationist. They take good care of the land once logged by seriously replanting it. There are many areas that are signed with the year it was replanted everywhere. The acreage is open to us to hike and is adjacent to Keith and Lynne’s property. It provides easy access without the need of driving anywhere! Very cool!

Fireweed gone to seed. It was blowing everywhere! Made you think twice about inhaling, lol!
Then we went to the view area. Oh, to have a summer cabin here! I say summer as in winter, this valley sees some mean nor’easters and you would not enjoy this view so much!
There are many trails to this property and several breathtaking views as well. I count myself blessed to have acces by foot from my front door and that the neighbors are willing to allow us access 24/7!
Tomorrow brings ladies Bible study. It should be good! 😇
