Happy Birthday to Jan!🎈🎁🎉 She took the day off from hiking to enjoy her birthday crabbing in the bay for her birthday dinner! I know she had a blast!
It was just @silvertop and myself for the hike. The day dawned smoky/sun with warm (too warm) temperatures and tons of humidity! Ugh! Before hiking, I needed to do a couple of continuing education courses for optical licensing as mandated by the state. 10 per year; 5 each optical and contact lens accordingly. Once that was done, we headed out for a hike.
As you can see in the first pic, there’s a lot of brown and dying everything. We need rain!!
We found a hornets nest in Bear Hollow with lots of activity! It was about 15’ up the tree and about the size of 2+ softballs. It’s on its way to be a major hub!

@actifit-lamb along with Wellington and Windsor came along for a little picnic on the hike. They decided to have their picnic on the bench at Bear Hollow. Jan had given the cute little basket to them.
They had a good time!
