Today was the day! The day we were going to get Ziply internet! Now whereas some might not find this exciting, you have to understand that we’ve literally waited 20 years for this! The only options for our road was dial up (yeah, right) broadband on a very limited amount of data, or satellite internet. We’ve had satellite internet for just about a year and a half. It’s been great but very expensive. So we jumped at the chance for another alternative. We are going to keep the satellite internet because this is the Pacific Northwest and downed trees and power outages are a way of life here, but will reduce the data package to get a better deal. By doing that, the two providers will cost less than just the one. With solar power for the electric and satellite internet, we have a good backup plan. We eat a lot of data in a month and we’re sweating the gigs for the month. Whew!
Needless to say, I had multiple devices that all needed updates, so that is what my afternoon has been all about. I’ve got one computer left with multiple updates and one update on my Mac air that is a macOS upgrade. I’m saving that one for when I can give it my full attention.
Hiking ended up being a short version and at twilight. The picture behind the Fitbit stats is just the last remnants of the sunny day we had today.
