Llueve desde hace dos horas. Después de un día caluroso la tierra se refresca. Puedo ver cómo sube el vapor del pavimento. Por un lado, es bueno. Por el otro, nos quedamos sin el servicio de agua y posiblemente se vaya la energía eléctrica.
Hoy di clases en la mañana. Preparamos el almuerzo —vegetales salteados con arroz— y descansamos en la tarde. Me siento agotado tanto física como mentalmente. El descanso nos cayó bien. Recargamos energías para seguir adelante.
Todavía tengo sueño, a pesar de que dormí casi toda la tarde, pero hay cosas que hacer, como un poco de actividad física y cuidar de las plantitas.
«Escribir es lo de menos, lo importante es vivir», me dijo un amigo en una conversación que recordé hoy. De esa conversación hace algunos años, y cuando la recordé, miré a mi esposa y pude darme cuenta de lo afortunado que soy, de todas las cosas buenas que me han pasado, a pesar de los tragos amargos, y que tengo un futuro hermoso con la mujer que amo.
A eso me aferro. La escritura vendrá luego.

It has been raining for two hours. After a hot day the earth cools down. I can see how the steam rises from the pavement. On the one hand, it's good. On the other hand, we are left without water service and possibly the electricity goes out.
I taught classes this morning. We prepared lunch - sautéed vegetables with rice - and rested in the afternoon. I feel exhausted both physically and mentally. The break was good for us. We recharge our energies to continue.
I'm still sleepy, even though I slept almost all afternoon, but there are things to do, like a little physical activity and take care of the plants.
"Writing is the least important, the important thing is to live," a friend told me in a conversation I remembered today. From that conversation a few years ago, and when I remembered it, I looked at my wife and I could realize how lucky I am, of all the good things that have happened to me, despite the bitter drinks, and that I have a beautiful future with the woman I love.
I cling to that. Writing will come later.
