A dear greeting to all lovers of physical activities that populate the mythical community of Actifit.
Today we had a serene morning, warm and very humid.
After lunch I arrived #alive at the central railway station of the state in Piazza Garibaldi where I celebrated my #iamalivechallenge 360 on the fly.
The humidity exploded within moments.
Humid ascending winds have been activated and in the midst of thunderous thunder a fast storm has been unleashed that has discharged a lot of water.
After completing an errand at the bus station I took the Metro 2 and got off at the Montesanto stop.
I traveled the Spanish Royal Estates and regenerated neighborhoods in the interior and discovered this church or shrine that is being renovated.
Destination of my quick sightseeing is the picturesque church of Santa Maria della Mercede in Montecalvario.
No, it is not a church sponsored by the famous German car brand of high quality vehicles but an ecclesiastical building that was founded in 1560 thanks to a donation to the Franciscans by a noble Neapolitan woman.
As for the altar, you can immediately notice the hand of the craftsmen of the workshop of Fanzago skilled manipulators of polychromatic marble that made up the central monument of religious services.
The side chapels are all very beautiful, especially those on the left, and this in the photo stands out among all with the Madonna of the Rosary with the Last Judgment of John Demio.
The decorations of Vaccaro in stucco also here delight the interiors as in our last stop in Santa Maria di Costantinopoli. In short, even in those days there were multinationals that costing churches in series at the industrial level LOL in a system of almost monopoly only that the pieces they made were completely handmade.
After the quick visit in this small masterpiece of Renaissance art I found the station of metro 1 just below the church with an underpass that pops up in the stop of Via Toledo easily accessible thanks to a chain of mobile floors.
