Such a nice afternoon, I just had to make the most of it! We had rain in the morning, so the ground was quite wet, but I needed to take this opportunity for a ride.
Taking to the roads for about a mile to reach a track that circumvents part of the town border. It was quite wet and muddy here. I did my best to avoid the worst until I eventually reached the main road. A short stretch of cycle path to get onto the forest track that leads to Buchan Park.
So, three parks with a lake in each. First up, Buchan Park. It was beautiful there. So quiet, peaceful, and not many dog walkers. The main tracks are well laid and drained, so if you keep to the main loop, you will avoid the worst of the mud.
The next park was Tilgate Park. Just a few roads away from Buchan Park. Tilgate has three lakes and is quite large, containing a full 18-hole golf course, too.
Today, I just visited the main lake as the paths were very busy with families enjoying the spring 🌞.
It is a very popular place anytime of the year.
Lots of activities can be enjoyed here. I relaxed on the wall at the dam end of the lake for a while before riding to my next destination. Goffs park.
It's a much smaller park than Tilgate but has a smaller lake. This park is very close to town, so it can be very busy in summer.
A very pleasant ride today. I hope many more to come as the conditions get drier.....hopefully!
