The main event today was a cycle ride but before that I was helping out my daughter by putting up a child safety gate in her flat to prevent her toddler from entering the kitchen.
With that done I was free to go on my mountain bike ride!
Today it was a regular loop to Horsham and back. This route has many variations so I like to change it up a bit.
The outward leg is by minor roads and stays the same but when the off road stage begins there is a huge choice of tracks to choose from.
Into Owlbeech and Leechpool woods where there are many platforms built as it can get sticky in wet weather. It is lovely and dry right now though.
Next up into St. Leonards forest.
Mick Mills Race is a dead straight track of one mile in length! A good solid stoney track slightly up hill all the way.
A welcome rest at the bench carved out of a single log.
Just a little more uphill to do and then decent into Holmbush woods before arriving at Buchan park lake.
It's just a stone's throw from home just across the main road footbridge.
