Last of the sharp greenhoods on the South side : June 9 2023

A better night than many. Must have been good - did not hear the garbage trucks or my wife's nephew going off to work early. Drifted the day away - set up an IM bonus program for a product launch. Wrote up the investing accounts.

Went out walking late to walk the whole of the south side of Lovers Jump Creek- not done that for a while. First stop is a budding nodding greenhood - a few more plants than last year

Chiloglottis leaves opposite - maybe the sign of a bud

Next greenhood along - maybe the sign of a bud - going to be late

Mushroom action

Mushrooms and orchid leaves - the new theme

In among the acianthus leaves is this orchid leaf popping up - a spring orchid not seen here before

They ran a hazard reduction burn last week - for a lot this will reduce ground cover. I hate it - why?

This spot is why. There was a lily clump growing up behind - thst burned hot. The orchid colony in front got grilled. Hacks me off as this is only one of two colonies this side of the creek. It will not come back as the burn was before seeding finished

Not sure what this is - mushroom or budding something else

This is an orchid from the other colony this side - sharp greenhood. Not a lot of flowers but there are 10 plants. They survived last year burn

Purpurea still flowering

Flash of white - ID check later

Banksia season

They catch the light

Epacris longifolia

Mushroom on bark in white

And orange

Walked the whole length of the creek - view back to Golden Jubilee Oval just as the sun was going down

Weird skies - those planes been busy

Did a little garden tidy up

Dinner: Salmon sous vide with veges
