Something Ray and I have been meaning to do for a very long time has been busking in Hitchin. As I have been on holidays and he doesn't work on Fridays we decided to give it a shot yesterday and the weather looked very promising in the morning, cool but glorious sunshine.
We weren't sure where to set up as buskin has been banned from the market square apparently but on Fridays there's an antiques fair by the river and Ray thought that might be a good spot with lots of people walking past.
Ray is into antiques and was tempted to buy an American clock for £40 at this stall.
Setting up didn't take very long at all. There were a few people on the other side of the river and there were quite a few walking around.
We would normally take it in turns and do three songs each. Ray started off and was well received, a little kid was the first one to put some money in our bag which was lovely!
Switch over and it was my turn. I got to a full 2.5 songs! While I was playing it slowly started raining and quickly got heavier, not only that, the wind picked up and blew over the microphone stand.
It was time to quickly pack up as everything was getting soaked including us!
It was still fun and, typical, as we sat in the car going back the sun was back out. 😄😎🌞
